Finally got the car to my place after storing it this winter. I had neck surgery over winter as well so I haven't been doing squat since January, which is akin to torture. But it's here and I started doing some work and figuring out what this thing will need to get back on the road!

Braved the rain the other day and started taking the engine out

It was a "good" time. From start to finish was about 5 hours taking my sweet time, which considering the conditions I was happy with.

Pros:
1- car has eibach pro lowering springs
2- clutch and trans are in good shape
3- cylinder head is good, besides being very dirty from sitting.

Cons: A
1- A/C system had a line removed and has sat for idk how long, so I'm wrestling on whether or not to put new stuff on there for functional a/c...
2- Axles are shot
3- right rear window is off track, so I'll have to dig into that and put it back on the tracks or replace rollers I imagine.
4- small leak from passenger door weather stripping along roof.
5- truck weather stripping isne even attached
6- stereo is a mess...
7- turbo has slight axial play, hoping it's salvagable.
8- outer passenger door handle doesn't work
9- and finally, the lower end is shot. Bearings are all badly worn, main and rod journals are catchy on finger nails (hopefully a polish will fix them), bores are very lightly scored from some rust in the cylinders, and the front balance shaft and bearing is wasted.

So the plan is to rebuild with the scat/Mahle stuff from the other 7 bolt I'd picked up (since no one wants to buy it) and do a full rehash on this thing. More than I was hoping to do and spend, but it'll be quite nice drivetrain-wise once finished!

Also need to go through the interior real good and spruce up the other things. Luckily there's no rust and it has alot of other really good supporting parts, so it's still been a good deal.

I'll try to post updates when I can!

Nothing major lately, work has been extremely busy since I've recovered from my neck surgery, so been low on time to get stuff accomplished.

Did clean up all the intercooler piping, wet-scuffed it with a scotch-brite, then clear coated it for that "always wet" effect. I like it, need to get some more clear to finish the last couple pieces and do some more coats, but the intake needs some porting/cleanup first.

Also picked up some new wheels, 18" 2012 outlander factory Enkeis, mostly went with these cuz the tires that we're on the car are 18s and we're in good shape. They're fairly light for their size, I'll have to weigh them, but I'd guess ~18-20lbs each? They're lighter than what was on the car for sure and look a whooooole lot better. I think once the suspension is loaded they'll flush up nice as well!

Have some more news this next week, but I'll keep it secret until I actually have something to show.
Hoping to drop the motor off at the machinist in the next couple days so that'll get going!

Finally got some time to spend on my projects after working on my moms 95 dodge cummins, transferred a meyers plow from our old 78 GMC to it and fixed a few small issues it was having. So now that it's done, I'm back to my projects!

After work yesterday I took off the exhaust and dropped the rear subframe, still need to unhook the ebrake cables from inside and fully removed it.
Unfortunately snapped one of the upper control arm bolts off in the body, it was kinda rusty so I'll drill it and maybe helicoil or time-sert it. Otherwise removal was pretty straight forward, love getting rained on by dirt!
