Ok... long story short I picked up a set of Ilumina shocks and springs about 8 years ago and they are starting to show their age, and it would be nice to be able to go over speed bumps without having to get that super special angle at really low speed. Plus I am getting tired of having to roll in and out of my car from ground level (yes I am starting to show my age as well).... SO.

Does anyone have any recommendations of shock/Spring combinations that they have done that will work well for my setup. My car is heavely modded in the engine/trans department but only tuned right now for about 300HP (looking to have that opened up to about 400 sometime next year). That said I do not dragrace the car at all or do any autocross (although I would like to if I can get the time off) but I am a spirited driver. ;) Sale price on Koni shocks are pretty good right now so those are probably going to be what shocks I go with, so my main question is on what springs. Right now I am looking at a set of Tein H. Tech springs for the FWD. From what I have read they look to be about a 1 inch drop from factory on the FWD car so that should be about .5 in an an AWD car which is pretty close to stock but they are a bit soft compared to other springs on the market. Eibach, Megan and Tein S. all show to be about 1.5 in drop on the AWD car with the exception of the Eibach for the FWD.

I dont want to spend the money on a full set of coil overs and I really dont think I need them with my driving style. Are their any other spring sets out there that might be something to consider even if stock from a different model (3g, lancer/EVO, Galant)...

Thanks.
Mike.

Awd car is heavier, therefore it should drop more than the fwd given the same springs.
FWD rear springrates are lower, however, so the rear is going to sag if you go that route on an AWD.

I have a set of Eibach pro kit AWD springs on my Spyder and they sit at a great height. Ride is very comfortable, and cornering is solid considering they're not coilovers. Only concern I could see is that at 6'3" I still have to roll out of the car ROFL
