As stated earlier, this thread has not been used for a while but I am hoping some Jackal experts are still out there with some answers. I have had Jackal and used it in the past and ran the car on E85 but due to getting different batches of ethanol content and letting the car sit and always having to clean out the fuel system before fuel adjustments, it did not make sense to continue this way (plan was to use this once a month for drag and rallycross races). I am switching to 93 octane and have some questions on initial start up because it has been a while. I could not fend these answers on dsmtuners or anywhere else on google.
I am running 20 lbs of boost, have an electronic boost controller, and have 1050 cc injectors (got these for the e85 and eventually for bigger turbo).
My questions are mainly due to the enrichment page:
-Injector table is locked initially. Does this stay this way or do I unlock it to put in my 1050 cc injector size? If so, do I have to change the values for uSec?
-Is boost control cut supposed to say what my boost level is? Last time is was set to -1.4 inHG (tuned by someone else but ran great). Can someone explain the percentage row of this enrichment?
-Closed loop table. I have it at all zeros. Does this mean I am in open loop at all RPM's? If so, once tuned, am I supposed to turn the 0's into 1's at lower RPM's and leave it in open loop at higher RPM's?
I understand the fuel and timing maps and how they work with each other and that you only use the left percentage column to tune the car initially on the compensation table and then go to individual cells to fine tune it (luckily someone put this in the notes on the page
).
Is there still a general How to guide or VFAQ that someone saved from DS-MAP that I can receive and just read myself? I did not get a "read me" file when I got this a long time ago back when DS-MAP was up and running.
