first things first I have evo scan and have run the first log just by idling....I have a few questions in relation to the findings I discovered.....

My engine temp on the logger is 20*C hotter than it is on my brand new autometer gauge, it reads 97*c on my logger and reads 85*c on my gauge, I also have a brand new fan sensor to switch fans on at 85 and shut down at 80, the fans come on at the correct temp according to the gauge but on the logger it’s showing 97*c when the fans come on.....what’s the issue here? Could it be a bad engine temp sensor (which was replaced with an eBay one when it threw a check engine light)?

2nd thing is it says my afr map is 17.92 and the o2 sensor voltage is 0.1-0.2....this is obviously really lean, what could cause this...?.... I have a 609 AFM, 560cc inj, 255lph fuel pump and a few other bolt ons with a chip to suit mods...

I can’t post a video cos it’s to large apparently so if anybody wants a video please send me your email so I can send you a video of the logger screen....

here is my log, my timing advance is all over the show when rpm settles but according to the timing light its fine?? log is just of idle

I think it's possible that the conversion factors for the sensor data may be off for your ECU (likely any 94 or earlier Mitsu style ECU). These factors I believe are part of the xml file but I'm not that experienced with EVOScan for reasons others have noted.

At idle the ECU adjusts the timing advance as part of the idle speed management so it's normal for it to bounce around a little but as you note is should be rock solid with the adjustment connector is grounded.

Ok so it’s probably just EvoScan reading it wrong? Are all the other values in normal range for idle, like the current fuel trim says -25....also any clues at to why the coolant temp on the logger says that the car is overheating?

Do you know if there’s anyway of changing it bro?
Same reason, i'd guess. The conversion factor from the ECU's 8 bit format to a decimal value isn't correct.
Steve mate, can you direct me on how to use TunerPro please? All I want to do with it is log and see my sensors I don’t need all the editing etc....so I have downloaded TunerPro can I just plug it into my ecu and view everything straight away like EvoScan? It is a 91 mitsi Galant Vr4 evolution or the 2nd facelift Vr4....still a 1G though...I hear you have to get buns or something but have no idea how to do it and what to do once I have them

If I knew, I'd have shared it. I believe you modify the xml file that goes with EVOScan. I start by searching out the conversions used in other OBD1 loggers (and the TP XDF) and search for how others have changed EVOScan in the past.

I've only used TunerPro RT to interface with an Ostrich EPROM emulator, never to log with. I assume you have downloaded the ADX files.

Ok cool, thanks for the info anyway mate.

Umm I did go back to TunerPro and look for the car I have in that list where it has the files for the different models of cars and I downloaded one that had Galant Vr4 in the description and I opened it in TunerPro and it came up with all these weird letters and numbers LOL....where to from there? And thanks for sticking with me in this
