Hey guys,

Car has been squealing on cold start for a few weeks now. It's getting worse. I've narrowed down the sound to the powersteering pump, and squirted some water on the pulley to figure out it wasn't a bad belt making all the noise.
I figured I need a new powersteering bearing or just a new pump in general. I heard that powersteering pumps were a common problem in these cars, so I was looking for something aftermarket as a replacement. Anyone know where I can find an aftermarket pump or bearing for my car, if they exist at all?

Thanks in advance.

I took the code from the bearing and got a replacement thats exactly the same, fits well and same seal and everything! do that as the bearing option.

I can give you the bearing code tomorrow if its not figured out by then

There is a bearing in the pump for the shaft to spin on, i know its there as i rebuilt mine and certainly is a bearing, it recesses below the retaining clip and the pully sits just above it.

I will get pics and bearing number tomorrow for you

Here is the bearing under the pully. If it has a shaft that turns then it always has a bearing of some kind,

Ah. Thats a whole lot different than a 1g power steering pump.
Since the OP has a 2G i took it thats what he is trying to rebuild,

Where can I get that bearing?
i just rang up my local bearing shop gave them the number on the bearing and they had one to me the next day!

but searching online this is what you wanna look for code wise 6203-c-2hrs

The pump have to come apart to get it out properly, it is possible without doing this but its not fun and messy

Is the bearing depicted in this image? I'm having a hard time finding the code.

My Number 11 broke on my power steering pump. Any idea where I'd be able to get that piece?

Pick n' pull or a wreckers. I doubt you can buy that part anywhere it's not typically something that breaks.
