Not sure I was clear. I meant only the currently plastic door handle part could be made as three pieces. The two arms could for example be easily cnc cut, with the now smaller and more simply shaped handle portion missing the arms could be more easily cast, and then the three parts tig welded in a simple jig.

A cast Al to cnc Al welded handle would still be much much stronger than the oem plastic handle. It's just a cost-saving measure (which doesn't always save cost depending on the vendor) that we use in industry.

You might even be able to get away with a bolted joint and some small dowel pins if you didn't mind looking at the heads of the bolts from the outside. But I think Bobby's single piece casting will be cheaper than multiple pieces if there is enough quantity there.

Depending on price and when they will be done i maybe intrested. My passenger handle is about to let go and the driver side has already been replaced recently.
I just don't think i will have the car much longer .

Doing it this was will cost more because its well more items, i looked into having them machined in 3 pieces and although easier for the machiner its still 3 seperate pieces to them, and looking at it bolting it together is not an easy thing to work around due to thickness and size, i think for simplicity the 1 piece casting is ideal and it should also help keep cost down more then machining

I think I might be one of the very few that have the only run of the aluminum handles from way back. They’re definitely much more robust than the plastic ones.

My driver’s side was OEM when it broke about three years ago. So I had got an aftermarket replacement from AutoZone and painted it. Worked fine.
But seeing the aluminum ones for sale and remembering the pain in the butt it was to replace, I jumped on them.

A little creativity at ACE Hardware and on they went. Now I don’t have to wince anymore when opening the door. It was worth it to upgrade the handles.

Can I get 2 sets. And how do I order?
You dont yet, im still talking to companys about the best way to go about it all and cost effective way

I think Canada have this issue alot, LOL i know when it ices up here my daily door gets stuck closed and its a pig to open sometimes, westher seal makes for a tight grip once iced over

Clean and wax the weather seal and jam portion of the door, no more sticking weather seal and still keeps the stuff out :thumb:
Just use an actual wax, not spray on stuff, need the film of wax to keep moisture out and seal up the area good.

Im talking to a new company at the moment. So ive not forgot about this project LOL, no way.

Just want to find the right place with the best possible finish for you all thats all,
