BFG G force tires are known to wear out quickly, I would recommend some Hankook ventus v12 evo2 tires. They are soft/good for grip, good all season daily driver tire, and also last a long time, oh and they are not too expensive either.

Instead of making a new thread I'll ask on this one, I'm considering getting these wheels but 17x9 with a 35mm offset, but I'm not sure if the fronts will clear because I have willwood 4 pot brakes, does anyone know?

Hey I'm looking into buying some flare fenders for my 2G, wondering what size spacers I should go with. Don't want anything too aggressive just want the wheels to go with the fender flares and sit just rite. Help anyone? Or had anyone done this before on their car?

To clear brembos with rpf1s you have to either run a low offset and risk having the wheels poke, or run small width such as 7.5-8" Rpf1s that have the concave look.

Ive had two sets of rpf1s and my 17x9s did not clear my brembos because they had a flat face. I later went with 18x8.5s and cleared just fine.

I don't want to start another thread but most people seem to run the 17x9" enkei rpf1s and I am wanting to run the 8 inch. What I've never seen confirmed is what is more ideal between the 35+ offset vs the 40+ offset. It seems as though most go with the 35+ offset. However, what I really want to know is if these will fit a 2g dsm awd no problem and without any modifications or is there a need to roll fenders or use spacers? Please, if someone knows..

I've seen a thread of someone running the 17x8 +35 offset with 3mm spacers, fenders rolled, but stated it wasn't necessary. However, it wasn't clear if both were unnecessary or one of the other.

I have 17x8.5 40 offset and it hits the rear upper control arm. A 35 offset would have cleared no problem. So now I will have to order 5 mm hub centric spacers to bring me to a 35 mm offset. I don’t have this issue in the front with the 40 offset as far as I can see but I am going to order 4 x5mm spacers regardless. I do have to roll my inner fenders as well in the rear.

Do you think that the 35mm would need any inner fender rolling? I have a 99 and I have heard we have a tad bit more space as far as clearances goes though I am not sure if that is true. That thread I posted, the user never specified whether the fender rolling was unnecessary. If you read the first post you'll see what I mean as to what was unclear. I just really want to run the 8" wheel and preferably a 245 tire

Most guys also have 245 40 17s I am using 245 45 17s, so that could also be the reason why I see I have to roll my fenders. Your year maybe able to allow you to fit the 40 and 45 profile tire no problem. Either way you will find out. If I had the 40 profile tires with the 40 or 35 offset mine still looks like I will have to roll. Yes the later years have more space because of the shape of the control arm being different.

For search/archive purposes, I can confirm 17x9 +35 RPF1s will fit a 1G/Galant and clear Baer track claws up front without issue. I know this is a 2g related discussion, but figured it's worth mentioning.

The rear wheels fit, but are super close to the training arms, which should be clearanced. Either that, or run a 5mm spacer which should put you right where you need to be.

I'm running 255/40/17s

fixed typos

Your welcome hope it helps

Ps the car you linked is using smaller narrower 235 40 17s that’s also why he did not have to roll his fenders. 245s are a different beast much wider.
Thank you for clarifying. Does this mean that 245s require fenders to be rolled?

Love the wheels and fender flares. Please post final product.

Also for search/archive purposes, I can confirm that the 17x9 +35 RPF1s do NOT clear Evo 8 front calipers on a 1G.
I believe +18 clears Evo brembos. I tried asking on here if the size of ctsv calipers are smaller in size but no one answered. The reason being is that I want rpf1 in straight spokes. Also by any chance did you try spacers on? Got any pictures of how much poke you got? Maybe camber setting? Any info is apriciated as I am going to install brembos very shortly.

I don't have any spacers on. I installed the front passenger caliper, then tried to put the wheel on and the spokes hit the caliper. From what I remember (it's been 2 years), I would have needed a big spacer for it to clear, so I gave up on it, sold them, and figured I'd try the CTS or VR-4 calipers another time. Please let me know what brakes you end up putting on. Here's a picture showing some poke. I had my fenders rolled and have camber set to -1.5 in the front and -1.0 in the rear, so there's no rubbing.

This is test fitting on the rear. Everything is for the most part figured out but not installed yet. A lot of custom parts, a lot of time invested, a lot of money spend but in the end I think it will be worth it. Rpf1 are the wheels I want to use but 1g fenders are not that big so it's either higher offset or fender flares. We will see.
