So I have a good friend who is listing his EVO 9 RS for sale this Friday. He approached me about b/c he knows I have a Mitsu problem. So I did the natural thing and went down and test drove it. It's awesome ... of course. It's stock other than a turbo-back and coilovers. And, it's pristine. It's been a 2nd car for him so it has low miles, perfect exterior and interior. He's very meticulous like me.

My question is, do you think it would suck to daily? My dsm is currently undergoing an AWD swap and my Starion is a full resto car - not a daily driver candidate. My daily is a Jeep and I still owe on it. Money is not the issue or a factor in the decision, but I would have to sell the Jeep in order to pick up the Evo - I can't afford both. So, that said I'd have to drive the RS as my daily, which, if you know about them, isn't the most luxurious commuter car. Part of me thinks it would be fun, part of me thinks it might get old and I might miss some of the off-road fun I have with the Jeep. I obviously have to make my own decision, but I thought I would see what kind of input you guys might have - esp from any EVO owners out there.

Driving that thing everyday would get old, it will also rust pretty quickly in salt and rocks chipping away at it.

I owned an 2014 evo 10 gsr as a daily and my dsm for fun. I got rid of the evo because of it being way to uncomfortable as a daily it was a loud and harsh ride and that was stock. My wife hated riding in it. So I figured I didn’t need two sports cars in the garage so I kept my dsm.

I personally would get it to daily. I've driven quite a few modded 8s that I've done for some of my customers and I really liked them. Especially with the stock bilstein suspension. But I enjoy fun dailies. My current daily is a fully bolt on focus st with recaro s. If you've driven on of those you know that the suspension is a bit stiff and I put 50 miles a day on it. Personally I really don't like jeeps especially wranglers and if that's what your comparing the ride to it won't be that much different.
