My goal is to roll race at TX2K19. I understand it's going to require lots of parts and money and some things I'm not sure if they exist. This is the follow up question asking about 5 speed transmission and capable top speed. Does anyone know that if were to buy a built transmission from whomever the company that still does for DSM's would be able to help with the gearing to go more than 170? Crazy #'s I know but if a dangerous Integra and EVO are capable we have to be as well.

The best option is a PPG gearbox with a 5th gear option. You are looking about $7000 starting, before adding the 5th option or a better front differential.

Oh, and the cars you mentioned are both over 1100whp. So, if you wanna play, you better have an 8 second car or faster. Which means you have ALOT of money to burn.

The roll racing is the same distance of a 1/4 mile race if im not mistaken...expect you start rolling at around 65mph I believe. And what Tim said...you've gotta have well above 1100whp to compete....

Go for it! I agree with the "Contact Boostin Performance" statement though. Even if they're not running the setup you're looking for, they can probably point you in the right direction and offer some great advice. There's also lots of other great companies, definitely start with the ones listed at the bottom of the page. I've personally called and talked with IPT and OPT as well, regarding problems with my transmission. I've heard great things about Jacks too. The trick is to call them, not email. For me it seems to work 1000x better talking on the phone so when you get an answer with a variable you don't understand, you can ask why & get it figured out. I've also noticed they're more eager to talk versus email and will open up with info regarding some extra tips & tricks that you may not know. Invest in a notebook and a Good pen, nothing worse than trying to write notes and the pen won't write, trust me. They're all really cool guys to talk with.

Yeah I'm fully aware of the power those cars running those speeds. It's honestly something that I could never achieve within the next 5 years but never say never. Next March my son will graduate college (as long as things stay on track) I'll be able to invest much more than I'm able to now. Until then I'll be working with the allotted cash I'll have from month to mont

Right now in life doing some roll racing events would be better suited to my financial situation . Drag racing; as much as I love it; is probably the most expensive form of racing with our cars at least back when I owned my last DSM.

I appreciate the info you've given me.
Obviously I won't be able to achieve any of the top guys soon if ever. My goals are to have a car producing somewhere in the neighborhood of 550-600 hp which is in itself tough to accomplish. Once I've reached that I'll start working towards the 170+ mph goal. Planning and lots of money and work will be the only way I can achieve those goals.

I had meant to put TX2K events. Financially 2019 is simply impossible for me. 170+ mph is one of my goals sooner rather than later is why I'm trying to learn what that will take to reach with our 5 speed transmission .

U may be right normally when cars are being parted out for sale I assume they are done they had multiple parts from it on Craigslist list a few months back like I said I almost bought the bumper
You do know that's the old bumper that was on the car right?

Christ.

Roll racing a high hp dsm is equally as dangerous as drag racing. Generally people rip the teeth off 3 and 4 when the torque spike hits doing 3rd gear rolls. You'll need a dogbox, not for the top speed, but for the middle gears. Stock 5th seems to be adequate for a lot of power.

I think the red demon was retired actually. I love about 20 min from boosting and they were selling parts off it on Craigslist a few months back almost bought the front bumper. Think the post said they were building a evo for this season

I don't know about them retiring it. Like I said I seen it at TX2K and talked to them about. What they have done since February I have no idea. Hopefully they keep it going.

LOL.....retiring the Red Demon????? LOLLOLLOL Biddy420 whoever you talked to doesn't work here nor are they telling you the correct information. If we were retiring the Red Demon, don't you think you'd see something posted from us about it on this forum, or on our social media pages? After making a 7.0 pass at TX2K this year, Devin plans on pushing the Red Demon more, and the plan is to make a 6 second pass later this season.

Yes, we were selling old parts off of the Red Demon that we were no longer in need of. Selling old stuff that's sitting around doesn't mean that the car is being parted out. We've also never mentioned anything about building an Evo - don't know where you were reading all this misinformation, nor do I know who you were talking to that obviously fed you the wrong information, but unfortunately that person led you on.

All of the employees of Boostin Performance know what the plan is for the Red Demon, and retiring that car is the farthest thing from Devin's mind.
