Nice Joe! Keep up the good work, car looks a lot better than mine.....but I like the "oh its just a beater 4 banger" look.
Love the TAG!!!!

@lasershark BEP housing in a .55 Housing :( I know Marty. I KNOW. .55 Not a good idea but it's a placeholder until I get a "peepers" manifold with a ts hotside.

Any pics on the progress of your swap? information? Advice? I'd really appreciate any input that you have

Be specific and I can and will be glad to help out, any way I can. :thumb:
The .55 will be ok, just know that there are known failures with the set up, but I ran the crap outta mine. I have another .55 BEP and a PR O2 housing with a 6 blade that is begging to go on the 6/4 auto!!!

Did you switch to a NT waterpipe? If not what did you do? I've been doing a lot of research lately on doing the swap, I know it's not terrible beyond fitting the drain.

I did the non turbo WP. For the drain I snagged a flexible drain from ebay (link at bottom) and mated it to a 2g oil pan flange (like 15 bucks at extremePSI) I bought the whole 2g drain then hacked it for the flange with a little hose to couple them together.

holset drain link

Use a NT waterpipe. Dent it slightly where the compresssor housing is close and it will fit . Use the LARGEST drain you can. Mine is 3/4" (-12AN). I used to run a braided line but the dam thing is only 2-4" long so I am using a oil resistant line that looks like heater hose and worm clamps. That allows you to remove the turbo, if necessary, without dicking with the oil drain fitting on the pan. Just loosen the hose and viola! :)

I got a guy locally that said he'd give me one.. we'll see how that goes. Fan clearance on drivers side? Just remove? or use slim fan? I know clearance is tight but talking to two people who have done it is massively beneficial as opposed to everyone who "had a friend that did it" LOL

I'm hoping the swap will go off without a hitch.. right now the big thing is finding an intake. I put a WTB on facebook but you know how that goes

Use the slim fams I'm bep. Too on my hx40 til.i get my t3 set up complete I'm running a 12 an set still working ok it all to go into my new 92 two project look for a build thread soon.im.on f.b Use a forced performance intake .

Good deal, get all the holset guys together. We'd get that @ErikTande guy but he skipped BEP and went right to TS :nono: lucky sob. If I told my gf that I dropped 1300 on a manifold right after buying a house I wouldn't be on here anymore guys. I wouldn't be anywhere anymore. cept hung up in a tree.

I've been trying to find an FP intake, but all the ones so far are for a 2g maf style

Factory fan is a no go, slim would work but clearance will still be tight-ish and you will probably need a turbo blanket so you don't melt it. You can roll with the factory passenger side though.

On the FP intake, you will have to tap it for Valve cover breather source. I got one from FP and took a drill bit to it :(. Disappointing but it looks ok.

You know what I just remembered? I'm running a slim fan on the drivers side anyway. :ohdamn: Shh. I haven't looked under the hood in a while. I am running a slightly thicker than stock rad though.. anyone of you guys running an aftermarket radiator?

Mitsomoto X is what I have. It is the thickest radiator that I have seen so far. Eveything still fits but the factory fan may be a squeeze so I have SPAL pulling on the passenger side and a SPAL pushing on the drivers side.
One note on a thicker radiator, fans don't really like to push air thru them because of the thickness. Just what I have experienced but if you "seal" them with weatherstripping against the radiator, it won't "spray" the air so much and pushes better....IMO.
I would try to keep your drivers slim fan but like stated above, it MAY melt do to heat. The Holset hotside makes alot of radiant heat and the downpipe too so wrap what you can.

I am not SD so I'm not sure how that would work out.. both of you guys are correct?

ahhhh FK that looks awesome. I might have to go SD just for that

I really like tuning on SD and am going to weld a bung in my stock UICP to run it in my stock(ish) auto car since I have link for it now.
That IS a STM intake tube but can be made with the same pieces at a lower price, I think. :thumb:

You guys are awesome. I actually reached out to STM to see about running the GSX on the dyno before I put the holset on.. just to see what the difference is.

Also small thing.. picked up black crystal 1gb headlights and I'm digging the look. What do you guys think? Regular or black?

I like em BOTH !!! :D

Been doing some things lately.. Pardon the messy engine bay. She's been sitting for a few months.

New outlander brakes, caliper brakes. got my evo8 wheels on with new rubber. black crystal headlights installed. HX40 swap should be finished this week.

Still have to swap transfer cases. tear the trans apart and replace the output shaft seal (on the car) andd.. Something something darkside. It's late I lost my train of thought.
