Iv'e had a bad antenna since I picked the car up. I ordered an assembly that claimed direct fit from flea-bay with my initial parts list. Turned out to be a universal design and I didn't want to cut wires and ruin the harness in case it didn't work. Besides, the bracket was different also. So I left it alone. Months have passed and I still haven't addressed this. If I want radio I have to pull the antenna up, then push it back down LOL. The mast is bent and distorted too, missing the tip, the motor is blown. I just want to replace the whole assembly. Anyone know where to get one? I can't seem to find a direct fit. I can custom mine in if they aren't available anymore. Would rather avoid the headache. If I have to, does anyone know how to do it? Any tips? I don't see where I can get it to mount up, and I don't want a rickety end product.

Thats always easy to say. But there aren't that many siting in yards as people think, and they have been so ratted out there isn't anything useful left. And you run the risk of it being dead too if you do find it. And you have to pay to go in to yards around here. They won't even tell you if they have the car or part these days. Just to pay to go in and look. Then hope you have the tools to get it out safely. And frankly, I'm not energetic enough to go through all that anymore. I would rather order a known good part to my door. That being said, I can see the assembly has been discontinued. Anyone know of any sites that might still carry it? I've looked at several oem parts distributors and e-bay.

If you can't find a power antenna, you could switch to a non-powered antenna.
I have one if you need it.

I thought about a non-powered, but honestly, I hate the look of the antenna on this car. I do want it down when Im not using it. Plus people seem to have a love for destroying antennas around here. Hence why it's damaged. So I do want it to retract to safety.

Does the motor work at all on it? If it does, chances are the plastic(?) gear inside on the mast itself is broke. I ended up getting a new antenna mast online when I first got the car and took the old crap out. Original motor though just needed a new antenna piece.

If the motor is bad though, then yeah, a junkyard one might be a better bet.

I can't quite remember, but when I first got the car the antenna would constantly run with the key on. The motor does work I suppose, so maybe the just the mast with the retracting gear is needed. Even with the radio off, whenever you first get in the car it would start grinding away. So I unplugged it several months back to not have to hear the noise. Is that normal? I don't see why the antenna would automatically try to extend, unless because the gear is broken, it thinks its always in an incorrect position and tries to extend/retract. If it get the new mast in, would it stop trying to go up and down on its own?

We've had two bad power antennas on two different cars; one had a broken cable cord. Ordered a replacement, like the one you found, and swapped it in and it worked great.

One the second car, the motor was fried, so we ordered a generic power antenna, and adapted the mounting bracket and the wiring harness. It can be tricky to get the right wires into the correct harness position, but if you check for voltage with the radio both on and off, you'll soon figure out what wire is the correct one.

Chances are the cable cord just needs replacing on yours since the motor could be heard running.

Its cheap enough and makes the job easy enough to try. I'll order it and update with the results.

I have replaced 3 of them now. Typically the mast cord breaks right at the where the gear picks it up. My fix (the third time) was a flea-bay mast. After that was installed a placed a hidden switch under my head unit that will keep the antenna down unless i want it up. That cuts down on the number of cycles the mast sees. On top of that, I have the original GSX rear hactch glass which has an antenna in it. However since most aftermarket radios don't have dual antenna ports, you need to buy a y adapter and a another upsizing adapter. Afte i installed those, the mast maybe gets used once a year. PM if you need more info.
