i crawled under the car, saw i did indeed have a viscous LSD, crawled back out and had a beer.

Started it for a few mins to let my gsx run. Cried that i need a xfer case b4 i can drive her.

Bled my brakes with some good quality fluid for my first track day in this car. Hadn't been done since who know when. Had to clean out one bleeder screw to get it to even work. Black fluid out of rear left, a lot of air out of rear right. Nice clean fluid out of the front (both calipers replaced recently).

Tuned on my new 2150's :D
Very smooth injectors!

So I recently purchased Koni shocks, eibach pro kit 1.5" drop springs, lower control arms and outer tie rod ends.
I spent most of the day cleaning up the wheel well with a wire brush and looking for rust in between banging on the tie rod end with a hammer / using wd40 and a blowtorch to loosen it. The drivers side outer tie rod end was badly shot. My friend came over and suggested I try a pipe wrench to break the retainer nut.. that would have saved me time earlier in the day, it worked well. The outer tie rod end was allowing about an inch of play for that wheel. The lower control arms I would like to report are in fairly decent shape and likely wont need replaced. However for the bad news the inner tie rod end on the drivers side had about 1mm of play. I may put it back together with just the new outer tie rod end until I can find the inner later. I still need to pull the front suspension and then begin cleaning up the top hats / painting them and transferring them over to the koni shocks. The other thing I noticed is the front spring isolators (black rubber the spring sits in on top) are in bad shape. I was able to reuse the rear and they were in great shape, but the fronts will need replaced. I don't think I will be able to find them locally but I will try tomorrow. This car has cost me some relationships.. I am actually still awake currently thinking about that. The car hasn't left me yet though.

So Update:
This was unexpected the front spring isolators aren't in as bad of shape as they appeared!!! Once I got them out of the car and could inspect them after I took the shocks apart they are reusable which is awesome. Still in process of cleaning all the rust off the top hats, bolts, ect. And then on to painting it all. Using VHT epoxy paint found locally at autozone. If you want a good paint for your undercarrage, suspension components and frame that will help reduce further rusting this is working well for me.

Clay-bar'd my windshield. Since the previous owner had this car under a tree for 2 years, the windshield had baked on grime, sap, and other unknown things. I could see through it, but the visibility wasn't the greatest. A few weeks back I saw a video on youtube about using clay bar to restore windshield glass and decided to try it. It did wonders. The glass is almost as good as new. Did find out there's a few tiny dings in it, that knowing my luck, will probably crack over this winter and will need new glass in the Spring. But until that happens, I'm satisfied with the result. Was my first time using clay bar too. Since it worked so well on the windshield, I may just do my sunroof and rear glass as well.

Still working on wire brushing wheel wells and undercarriage. Painted top hats and bolts/ nuts and washers. Wire brushed more on brakes and wheel wells then washed out the wheel wells with the hose.

You read that correctly, I wire brushed and cleaned the bolts then hit them with a wire wheel on a dremel then painted them threads and all. I figure it will bullet proof them some from rust. The threads will be fine maybe need to put some more elbow grease when tightening them. I will likely also use anti seize liberally on most of the suspension bolts. My car wasn't really even bad just a bit of surface rust here and there, but I really don't want to see any rust anywhere. Its not going to be a show car, but its going to be nice enough for me. I'm working on some video for youtube on some of what I've been working on.

I just saw that video tonight! I'm going to try it too.

It wasn't today, but this is the most recent work. Had to cut out the original harness bar and swing it back to have enough room. Adapting the stock sliders to mount Kirkeys to.

Took the talon on its maiden voyage with koni's and eibach pro kit springs.. cracked part of the bumper pulling back up the curb to get into my driveway. The ride quality was really on point. The steering was somehow perfect (haven't got alignment yet) replaced both outer tie rod ends and one lower control arm. I am super impressed with the koni's thank you everyone that wrote reviews about them online!!! on lower settings they street just fine even with my tires at high psi.

Now if I can just track down some rattles in my passenger door.. To the reviews that I have read saying that konis aren't so great for the street I really don't know how you came to that conclusion I have terrible streets and potholes a plenty. The koni struts performed flawlessly on 2 front and 0 rear.

I
I have seen this on alot of sites with mustangs, hondas, volkswagen, ect... Although I've never seen one with DSM's and i thought maybe i would try it out and see if it sticks... I'll start off with what i did to mine. I cleaned up the motor bay and did a little wire tucking.
spent mine failing at installing lowering springs and finished radiator install.
