So I've been searching all over the internet for the stock cam specifications for my 98 GST. All I can find is aftermarket specs. Seems like everywhere I look everyone regurgitates the same information about how 1g cams are better or this or that. I need to know the stock specs so I can make comparisons when shopping online. My head is off and at the machine shop due to my piston/valve collision a week ago.

I want to find the most mild cams possible and compare to stock to see if I'd like to upgrade when I put the car back together. I am looking for a swap that doesn't require tuning. Just a slight bump in duration and lift. I did this on my C5 vette before. Car ran like it cam with the cam and was still smog compliant. Just a little more lopey sound and power. Can this be done with a 4g63?

Stage 1, 2, 3, this and that means nothing to me. Those are catch phrases for the fast and furious crowd. Without specs, I have nothing to work with. I want the car to have a little more than stock while I have the opportunity but still be tame and smog friendly.

Anyone have the specs? And then suggestions on the cams that would best suit me?

The 4g63 n/t tended to have the more agressive cam profile as I recall, the turbo specs didnt change all that much over the years, a few degrees here or there pretty much.

Thanks! I'll see what the cast letters are on my cams when I get it back.

:applause: :p

I heard about a stage 9, gonna check that out :p

I found "A" cast marks on my cams! Pretty pleased with that, they appear to be some of the best available according the charts. I would like to know the duration if anyone knows.
