I was wondering if these rubber grommets would be a fast replacement for leaky insulators into the cylinder head. Read some previous threads and people have said they work decently on stock 450cc injectors. Can anyone chime in?

For $4, If they work, can’t be beat for that price!!

I would invest a little more and get this kit. Only a couple bucks more and you get all of the wear parts. Quality is as good as a chunk of rubber gets LOL

I have new seals. I’m just looking for input by people who have used these. $20 for seals that leak after who knows how many miles doesn’t seem logical to me but $4 seals that leak around the same time seems better. I’m specifically looking for insulators into the head only though.

Or what about these grommets?

How can they sell these so low?? They must be using a reduced price insulators.

This makes me want to take a chance with the “other alternative” injector insulators that I provided..

You can buy the correct stuff at oreallys. You it's for a toyota truck with a 2.4 in it or something similar. Mid 90's. Post about it on EvoM.

I just looked online, they are now $5/kit for the yota. I’m just trying to find cheaper alternatives. I gusss since no one that has used the ones I posted chimed in, I’ll go ahead and be purchasing some later and testing for you guys!

Because who doesn’t like $4 injector insulators?!?! Lol

The “high pressure” seals for the throttle shaft also seem a bit much @ $45? Lol. Has anyone used these? So say someone with “low Boost” buys these, they should last for a longgggg time then huh?

They are metal cased seals instead of plastic. They hold my 44 lbs in. :D
"They say" the plastic case seals don't like "high" boost. I'm not sure of the pressure that they supposedly leak though.

Any inexpensive seal you buy that wasn't specifically for an injector....is it gasoline compatible? If not it's a waste of money at any price.

I had a huge problem with my evo injectors and I went out and bought Home Depot racing insulators and all I can say they leaked worst then before. We are talking about boost leaks here. So I went back to stock which were new and I installed additional oring before the insulator went on. Tested it to 25 pounds. Good to go.

So injector side you did insulator and o ring then cushion in the middle and the fuel o ring into the rail?

Today was hell, just ten minutes ago. Was idling ok then got on it and came to next stop and vacuum had dropped to like 10-12 and was idling weird. Turbo was spooling sound but no power felt like fuel was getting choked up (felt like someone was flipping a switch and Boost would kick on LOL, maybe maf issues? It’s 22 degrees now and stock)

My injectors have free wiggle room as in I can easily turn them. Should they be in stiffer to prevent leaks from the head?

No cushion. I dont think it belongs on the car. I tried it and for those said that it worked for them I guess had more luck then me. Anyways I just reused stock insulators, they were replaced not too long before that. Anyways take the bottom insulator off. Pick o-ring that fits tight on the injector and install it. Then install the insulator. That worked for me. I install regular o-ring. I will try to find a picture when I will get home.

I did it like this. Just made it a little tighter.

Oh yeah, that looks like a decent thing. Do they feel stiffer while seated in the head and rail?
