Hello !

I am contacting you because I plan to mount a dump valve on my GST engine.

I was told that I absolutely had to take a recirculating dump valve that had to be reconnected to the inlet hose because I have a MAF.

I just wonder, I see a lot of videos on Youtube where people take atmospheric valves dump.

Is reconnection to admission mandatory?

Thank you :)

Yes it's necessary if you have a MAF. If you do not recirculate you will have driveability issues. You would need to switch to speed density with a MAP sensor to correctly dump to atmosphere.

Hi, thank you very much for your reply!

It's a shame, I wanted to have the famous "Pshit" of the dump valve ... I will not have it so suddenly?
Shift to MAP sensor is easy to do?

You can make your valve louder by getting A) an eBay intake that goes between the MAF & the turbo inlet or B) pull the OEM rubber intake off & cut out the tube you'll see on the inside of the factory intake rubber shorter. It will be noticeably louder but not quit as loud as dumping to atmosphere, but pretty close.

I've experienced the dump to atmosphere like everyone else I'm sure, and the bov purge noise is really no louder than have the recirculation hose on it. My experience with it wasn't actual driving issues, but idling issues. It idled like I had severe idle surge and most of the time struggled to stay running. Keep it recirculated and you'll avoid those problems. I've also tried cutting the inside of the oem intake to make the air flow smoother. That basically muted the bov. I personally didn't mind it muted, but still like to hear it a little, so I can at least tell it's operating normal.

I have my BoV vented to the atmoshpere never really had problems but im planning to recirculate my BoV because even though you run fine with it being dumped it will always be better to have it recirculated for a better faster and more acurate run of your engine. What i mean is unless you tune with a MAP go recirc to make sure your car is running in its BEST way possible. Just my 2 cents
