im really confused ... tried searching on forums but didnt find any answer
i just bought a full timing belt kit from extreme psi , and i spent alot of money .... but my engine and gear mounts are broken , engine shakes really bad

so i was thinking of saving some money and buy ebay engine+gear mounts
what do u guys think of them? have any of you tried it ? or should i just go for oem ones?

*just trying to save some money *
thanks in advance <3

This kit was for my 2g. I bought the suspension, torque, and motor mounts. Install was a little long due to not having a press, and this was for the suspension. The motor mounts were cut in half for install. But, so far so good...haven't had a chance to drive it yet with the kit installed. I will get some pictures for reference for you in the next couple of days.

I think Prothanes are cheaper than originals, thats was the reason that made my mind up. Here was my writeup on how I did them.

Here is the direct link to the motor mounts and torque mounts. Ebay doesn't offer a lifetime warranty...so imo i would go with these guys. And to top it off they are located in Texas
yes bro i think its better, but warranty wont make difference , i live in dubai LOL

yes bro thats what i was searching for! they are cheap and good!!!!!! damn bro i love u thanks

No stupid questions unless you aren't asking them. Hit me up anytime about the procedure.

I didn't think of doing it that way, I used a ball joint press and a air hammer, that is the typical way I do any suspension bushing at work. I should have checked here first for a easier way.

I bought both ebay and rock auto front and rear mounts for my 1g. One set from each seller killed both sets fairly quickly. SO if you're trying to save some money get the prothane not, very easy to do and you will save time and money in the long run.

Nobody has said it yet but be aware the car will vibrate a lot more with urethane mounts. If that's not a problem for you then it's fine. My car is daily driven and it's too much for my tastes. Take that information for what it's worth.

by vibration im fine with it , but would it hurt my car with too muchvibration ?? thats the ansr im looking for bro
( or maybe i get front rear prothanes , and sides oem ??)

bro im gna order these, but are they front and rear only? or full set including the sides?

They are the motor mounts (left and right) also includes the torque mounts (front and rear). The only down fall that I don't like is that the torque mounts are inserts.

That is what I have noticed at just idle. Haven't had a chance to drive it...but I will take your advice tho for sure pauleyman

yes bro i know , from what i read from other ppl (from wht i undderstood) is that if i use left and right inserts i must change the MOUNTS them self to big ones, is that true?
or its just buy and install?

If you follow what was done here you will have no install issues. You will reuse the bracket and insert the bushing...
since it will require me to change the sides mountings to bigger ones to fit the inserts... i will change my route
i will go for front rear inserts with stock mounts
and sides FULL OEM :D thats what il do

I have seen some of the cheap motor mounts. They were s*** I could honestly almost tear the rubber out by hand.

Without any reviews, i wouldn't trust them.

I've torn through anchor mounts many many times. Who knows with OEM since I never had them new, and every DSM I've owned needed them replaced, especially on FWD. Anchor is the most popular aftermarket OEM style. You can buy them at a parts store for $80 or get them from rock auto for $10-20. They're crap like all the rest. Prothane inserts are crap for the front and rear roll stops.

I buy eBay mounts and fill them with $5 loctite urethane construction adhesive. 3M window weld is the more expensive option. I started doing this originally to keep my pro thane inserts in place, now I just and fill them all. You can drill holes afterwards if they're too stiff. The longest set has been holding up about 4 years now.
