Here's a couple pictures of mine before and after. I still had to cut for the IC and paint the front bumper in the second picture, but it was nothing.

Got any friends that live local to you that wrench on cars in their garage or back yard? I happen to be a handy back yard mechanic myself and I have fixed worse in the middle of winter. Its all doable if you have some time and space to work in. If you cant do it yourself go hit up a junk yard and start looking for friends.

I could have that car back on the road inside of a week. I would cut the core support off and go grab another from a JY and weld it in. Have a frame shop give you a quote just to make the frame right if it needs it. New radiator, hood, headlights (replace both with projectors)

In the mean time Owner retain the car they will total it and cut you a check. Buy something else to drive thats reliable for now I would suggest something economical like a used civic or used lancer. Park it in your back yard and sell it as a parts car if you really dont want to mess with it.

I'm not trying to sway you one way or another but if this is the same car that's in your build gallery then it maybe time to move on. The rust damage you have in those pictures is pretty extensive...

I got a quote of a professional to fix and paint the whole thing for 2500$ cash. I towed the car there with AMA for free. I am gonna see what he says about undrtneath the car. Gofer I thought about what you said. Maybe its time to find a clean shell. And yes. My love for this car grew and grows everyday. First own car. And this platform is just right for me. Pushes my buttons, makes me happy.

I understand and I feel the same way about my 2g as well, it's part of the family now so parting ways with it would be tough even if it sat mangled in the corner of the garage after an accident.

$2.5k is great and if they can help with the rust then there's no reason to try to pick something else up.

There is a lot of ressurection stories out there. And this eclipse is what got me back on track. I lost myself somewhere in the way. I always wanted to get involved with automotive and somehow ended up making the $$$$s in the service industry. Then it came my way and now I am steered into a different path. All my friends are lazy not motivated enough to pull wrenches. Sometimes I feel that they are more like acquaintances than friends. The word friend from where I originate (greece) has a deeper meaning than what it means in NA. A friend is a brother. You do anything to get a friend out of a pinch and see him happy..

Ive fixed worse. If you plan on having a shop fix it you might as well go find another dsm to buy. Red eclipse hood and fenders should be easy to find but i wouldnt find red, just get the parts so you can drive it. Airbags are like $50 each on ebay. Good luck

That's not so bad for a shop to fix it. Even if it ends up marked title its your car and you will be the only one it matters to. My DSM is marked title I don't really care I don't ever have plans of selling it. Now what this does affect is if I get into an accident I wont get much for my car, so if the accident is bad I will probably not rebuild it and end up selling it. Then I will be forced to buy the evo I have always wanted LOL.

Glad to hear you found a decent shop keep on boosin friend.

3000$ to get it fixed painted and the rust that is on the undercarriage addressed. 10 days to get the job completed. Will be posting the results. thanks for the Compassion fellow Tuners :)

Hope it works out for you. I say getting it fixed was a good move; I hate to see cars that are repairable get tossed away.

Help it live again! I'm glad it will be less expensive than everyone was saying. Looking forward to pics
We are waiting for update pics ect. If I catch this in a JY im going to be pissed.. you didn't sell it to another dsm-er. Hope repair process is going well... or else. haha jk, Or is it jk.

PS: Really hope those repairs are coming along nicely. you wouldn't want to be mean to a dsm on these forums..
PPS: Unless your building a stripped race car.
PPPS: and then you better still do it with nice feelings.
PPPPS: or else.
