I sure hope ceddy has his website back up. I had all of the roms and stuff downloaded and well my comp crashed and no files but one. I just figured out that you can in deed flash with a vagcom cable so thats good news 20$ cable and solder a wire in to it. If anybody can help with the files i would greatly appreciate it alot. Thank's and if i found out how to get the files i will let everybody kn thank's alot.

Are you sure about that? I thought the vagcom cable was for logging only. Are you using a 2G blackbox or a Evo8 ecu?

Also, this hasn't been mentioned yet, but Ceddy's site is back up! I guess he got the word that the domain expired.

Does it cause a lot of $ him to keep the domain up? I am about to get ceddy mod to start tunning, and I will donate more if it's a lot to keep it up. I am Hana give a nice amount either way but yea. :D

I no these cars are getting old, but some youngsters like me are trying to do it right, and I will help for feature :laser::dsm:'Ers :thumb:

Glad that the site is back up! I will be purchasing the full arsenal from ceddy once I get my cord and ecuflash. Was planning on having everything by the end of april, but an incident this weekend with the dumb**s who test drove my car at the alignment shop may have just set me back a big pile of money. I just posted a thread about it, if anyone would like to give advice.

I pay go daddy for my dotcom's 8.99$ a month for hosting "which is not the lowest"
and something like 15$ once a year for domain registration!
Running a website doesn't cost much, maintaining it can be time consuming!

I'm all about donating for his time invested into ceddy mods and everything he's done for dsm's!
I'll be snagging the everything bundle for 30$ this payday!

I don't trust shops, and the alignment shop messed my drivers door up hella bad! It's got the lambo hinges and I swear they dropped it from the very top, even after I showed them 3 times how to get in and out... I stressed the most importance on not dropping the darn door :( Guess I didn't stress it enough!

Yes as long as you do not use the blue cable one's from china. you have to put a 12v wire to the flash port and a batt charger for safty just in case it my brick ur ecu.

Okay I am back with an old problem. I purchased the big maps package some time ago. The big maps do not work. When I flash it appears I am on Map 1 or 2 not the Big map. Is there a bit that needs to be switched for it to work? Or do I have bad Roms? I finally fixed my fuel and maf issues (upgraded injectors, pump, and went SD). Along with a new built 7 bolt and hx40. I need to get the big map up and running.

Also I am having Idel issues it likes to stall I have tried adjusting latency but my Idle SIFT seems to stay near -6.5 +or- 0.3

You could try adjusting your injector SIZE in ecuflash for your trim issue, and you do have to turn on big maps for them to work.

I have adjusted latency and size does not seem to help. I will look again for how to turn on big maps. Why does this rom not automatically come big map enabled?

I can not find a switch in the bits for the big map.

You have to enable it in "setup bits"
Put 1 in Map Select "On/Off" 1 is ON "Use [ or ] to change it.

Below that change Map Set to either 0 or 1!

I'm not sure if this will get the big maps to work, but it allows the switching between the two maps! I'm still learning and don't know how to define what map links to 0 and what links to 1!

Are the big maps all random bits? if they are loaded properly then they will look right otherwise they will be garbled values.

The big maps consist of more columns for you to change settings in. If you watch
You must be logged in to view this image or video.
it shows you pretty much what the bigs maps are. Combined like settings to save columns so say you had a 250 load and where only seeing 160 on your map, the big maps would have columns combined so you could see load to 360+ or whatever.

If I don't have the reflash adapter, can I just purchase a 2.5mm Mono plug and wire into pin 79/Reflash connector wire then plug it into the 2.5mm jack?

The only case you can do this, is with a '97 DSM with a black box ecu. And yes it'll work, just ensure a solid connection and to the proper pin

Why would it be any different for a 98 or 99? 97s didnt come with a flashable ecu so you are using a 98/99 ecu. Still need to supply reflash init voltage. I just don't have a source for a male plug for the reflash terminal. Was planning on cutting off the plug, and soldering on a spade terminal, then making a mono 2.5mm to spade cable to plug into the tactrix dongle.

Ok, first time posting in this thread, but I have a qiestion. Have been reading this threat all day and is very interesting, I just got back to Eclipse and will be using ecuflash and buying the bigmaps from ceddy's site, already bought the openport 2.0 from Tactrix just waiting on shipping, just have 1 question.

My car is a 98 Spyder in which am currently building and making it turbo. After comparing the ecu and finding out that yes my ecu is flashable, has same pcb as the 98gst and from reading Ceddy was able to flash it. My question is the following,

-After flashing the ecu. Do I still need to rewire my car as if I was installing a GST ecu? Reason I ask is since am flashing a gst/gsx rom in it, the ecu will basically think is a gst and use wire configuration for gst instead of it's original GS format.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

cano98 since you are starting off with a NT Blackbox ecu and a NT Eclipse you need to change the way wiring for how the ECU signals the fuel pump. I unfortunately can't find the thread at this time but it is something you will need to change otherwise your car will not start even if you flash the Ceddy maps onto your ECU.

Thanks for pointing that out, yes am aware of the issue with the fuel pump as where the ecu is supplying 5v for spyder and pulling ground for turbo models, just forgot to point it out.
My main concern is for the rest of the harness, Will I need to rewire it as if the ecu was for a gst? or the only difference between the turbo and spyder ecu are the Fuel pump and the fact that spyder has no Knock sensor.

Edit: This threat shows wiring a turbo ecu into a non-turbo spyder, http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/turbo-ecu-in-a-spyder-gs.424084/.

Thats what led me to believe that upon flashing a turbo rom, I still have to change the wiring in the car as basically the ecu will be reading as a GST not a GS.

cano86, after looking over the wiring diagrams the only thing I see that you would need to do is change your pinout so the Ignition Switch IG1 is moved from pin 82 to pin 92 to match what is placed for the Turbo ECU. Since you've got the Fuel pump rewired you should be all set.

Could you post how you rewired for the fuel pump pulling to ground?

GPlaserRs, I meant that yes am aware the of the issue as where the "spyder uses 5v and gst pulls ground". I haven't done a rewire yet.
My plan is to do a rewire using a kill switch going to the relay, then pump and use that as an extra security measure.

By the way, Has anyone done a bench setup to flash the ecu outside the car?
I seen someone posted one in this thread but had no details on which wires go where. I would like to know as I have my ecu outside and just got my openport cable today, wanted to mess around with it while I finish the car.

Does anyone know if Ceddy is still around doing his thing? Havent seen a post from him for a long time
