So installing an HID kit should be a walk in the park right? Well that was most definitely not the case when I tried installing my HID kit. I read and watched how to install them and I will say it looks pretty easy. When I went about installing mine I came across an issue. The plug that connects back to the stock harness, does not fit at all. Doesn't even look like they're suppose to connect. I attached two pictures for clarity. The plug on the right is from the HID kit and the one on the left is my stock harness.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried two different HID kits from two different companies and had the same issue with both. I cannot figure out what the problem is.

The end you are referring to plugs into the ballast box that powers the HID bulb.

The plug you are holding from the body harness plugs into the headlight housing like normal.

Post more pics of the connections and I'll walk you through this...

Not sure what you need to see but I took pictures of how I believe the connection should be. Feel free to point out where I am wrong.

In the first pic, I have one bulb set up to how I believe the connections go. I have 3 circles indicating where the connections are made. The red one represents the power from the ballast to the HID harness, the blue represents some more ballast connections that I don't quite know what for, and the green one represents the original problem: this black connector that's close to the bulb can't seem to connect to anything.

In the second pic, I have it setup next to my eclipse to show it in an application. The front bumper is removed so thats why you can see all my wiring. The connections are all made, except for the green circle one, which represents the same thing it did in the first pic. The big red circle here is to indicate my stock headlight harness, which as you can see from the pic have been disconnected and are hanging loose.

cowmilker, take the end that you circled in green with the question mark and plug that into where you old low beam bulb was plugged into the headlight housing. That is how the ballast knows to power the HID bulb, then you will be all set.

If this still doesn't help I will send pics of how mine is setup once I get home from work.

Isn't that exactly what the issue was? They don't connect to each other. Pictures would be greatly appreciated, as I may just be misunderstanding the situation at hand.

This is what the original bulb looked like that was in you headlight housing, take the pigtail that would have plugged into this bulb and stick it into the plug that you circled in green with the question mark.

The issue is you're trying to figure some way out to plug the HID kit into the body harness for the car, you don't plug it into the harness it's all plugged into the headlight housing. Take the headlight housing and install the new HID bulb into the low beam bulb location, then take the plug that would have gone to the 9006 low beam bulb and attach it to the plug from the HID harness you don't seem to know where it goes, then plug the HID bulb into the ballast and you're done. AS I mentioned you will need to make a hole in the bulb access door in the headlight housing to run the harness from the HID to the ballast. Then mount your ballast somewhere in the engine compartment, and make sure that the hole you make in the access panel is a snug fit around the waterproof rubber grommet so the headlights don't get any condensation in them.

I'm sorry but something is still not making sense. That bulb you uploaded looks nothing like my stock headlight bulb. In my first picture I have captured the back of my headlight housing. you can see the rubber grommet which accesses the bulb. The other two pictures are front and back views of the housing with the grommet removed. As you can see there are two small wires that are secured by a small metal bracket. Theres nothing like that bulb you uploaded. So I still do not know where the green marked connector goes. Theres nothing I can find in the whole headlight assembly that can connect to it.

You don't have stock head lights.
Those are after market. My after market lights have the same connectors, bulbs, clips, etc.

Well this is a new discovery for me. I bought the eclipse used so I guess the original owner put in aftermarket lights? They don't look any different than the OEM ones. Anyways could I still go about installing these HIDs or have I just threw myself into a hole?

You could, but you'll probably need some pigtails and other bits and pieces. If it was me (and it is because I'm in the same boat) I would get a set of used OEM lights and do the conversion on those. Also, the plastic on the after market lights is weak compared to the OEM lights so there's that.

Okay, so that makes sense then, those are aftermarket headlights with the projector lens built into it. So the bulb that is in there for your low beam is probably an H1 or H3 bulb, verify what kind is in there and get the HID that works for that bulb and not the style bulb that was in the car originally. You should be good to go then.
