I got an SD kit for the 1990 I'm building, I have a 90 ecu, and might buy a tucked harness off someone it's a tucked engine harness with fuse box relocation and battery relocation, the works.. But it has no MAF connector since it too is setup for SD, but I don't think it ever was setup for e85..

I bought a 2g sd easy-harness from ecmtuning and a few 2g maf connectors and pins and stuff to convert my 1g maf connector.. So that stuff is kind of useless if I decide to buy this.

It's only 3 wires it should be easy enough, but all the insructions to install off ecmtuning wiki says..

....................

If you're not running our SD cable, then the easiest option is to simply get the EFI Connection Part # 100-00741 pigtail and just wire it straight up yourself.

The ground connection needs to be run to chassis ground (i.e., do not use sensor ground off the TPS or MAF connector).
^^^(pretty self explanatory)

The power connection (labeled “Vcc”) needs to run to a switched +12v source. You can find a convenient switched +12v source on the MAF connector harness. This will be a thick red wire on pin 3 of a 1G MAF connector or pin 4 of a 2G/EVO3 MAF connector.
^^^(without the maf connector, where would I find an *IN*convenient switched +12v source? Hah..)

The signal wire (labeled “Out”) needs to run to the ECU's MAF input. This is pin 2 (green with blue stripe) on a 1G MAF connector or pin 3 (blue with yellow stripe) on a 2G/EVO3 MAF connector.
^^^(same.. No maf connector..)

.................

With that being said. Would I have to find the correct ecu pins and run the connectors wires all the way back to the certain ecu clip inputs? Or is there an easier way? I know there's only one way it can go in and I have to tap into that specific place.

If anyone can help I would appreciate it. If not I will try and contact ecmtuning and ask them.

Are u positive the ecu input wires wer cut or depinned? For the flex sensor to work u would need to run the signal wire to the maf input pin okn the ecu.

Ground would be the easiest. Just tap to anywhere in the engine bay.

Switched 12v u can tap in to the radio accessory or anything else that gets 12v when u switch the key. Get a voltmeter and start poking around.

Hope this helps.

Haha ladies and gents, you can always count on boostd....

I know the maf female clip (car side) was deleted I'm just not sure if they got depinned at the connector or the ecu. If it is at the ecu, I can just rerun the new wires directly pinned into the yellow ecu connectors?

As I read that back to myself it sounds like an obvious yes... So if so, where should I go to for either/both of them? Like which input? (Meantime I will try to find some diagrams but if anyone knows off hand that would help a bunch..)

The same +12v that would run to the MAF connector also runs to the wastegate solenoid, the fuel pressure / EGR / purge control solenoid pack, and many other more vital components. I realize you said it was a tucked harness, but if any of those solenoids mentioned were still around, you could nab the source from one of them. Ultimately the +12v is all coming from pin 5 of the MFI control relay for those components.

Run a wire back to the ECU.

Yes.

The pin on the ecu u want to tap into is on the B-56 connector pin 90. See diagram.
That's for a 2G. ;)

It's pin 10 on a 1G ECU. 1G ECU Pinouts
