Tre, he rebuilt my first in 2001, sold it and bought some more cars since then .
TRE is by me, goal street car i kinda lucked up with the gear assembly, nothing crazy shell hold up, but if she breaks ill have a much better one buit im on hks cams , hx 40, 93 pump for now. A little pocket rocket, but ive everything on my next project is either new or rebuild all to have some fun. Im not on the internet hype about this and that or dyno numbers or track times just fun.

Few qs haha..
You did his 300$ shot peen service?
Did you remove the parts and send them to him or send him the whole trans?
How hard was it removing the gear sets, if you did? I never did it before.. But I'm going to have to, to get this done LOL

It was all included i the build the shot peening and the gear detail, he took care of me this go around i dont have a price i told him i just needed something reliable. im just going to watch it when it put he hx40 in again it was supposed to be just a mild build, LOL. ive beeen to the shop and seen the trannies dsm heaven.

hx 40 in a .55 bep housing fp manifold pr o2 housing, ive spoke justin set me up years in the making finally got what i wanted. 60mm turbo.

well boys, took the car out with the new cams. You guys were right. The car pull so much harder now with the s2s over the s1s. Holy hell. Need more room.....

Not Revving past 8k is a waste of that turbo.

With a .63 housing, forrester intake, and comp 272's my 3586 makes peak power right around 8,000 rpms, and holds flat past 9,000. With a .82 housing, same intake, and kelford 272's I made peak power at 8,850 rpms.

The spool difference is 500-700rpms in 3rd or 4th, but worlds apart in 1st or 2nd gear on the street.
You werent kidding, holy hell the cars pulls so much harder through the upper rpms.....fantastic...

I run GSC S2 cams with my small 56mm borg warner with a t3 .63 hotside, and at 31 psi it pulls nonstop to 8k. I can only imagine your setup is pulling teeth out!

Big cams are the way to go. Now rev the motor out
I Reved the motor out to 8500, pulled all the way. I don't know where people go to do full on 3rd gear pulls. This shit is no joke. Once I get into third, im moving really fast. Its really dangerous.....im worried someone is going to pull out of a driveway. I have a flat long road that I use out in the middle of nowhere and im still scared. I don't want to hurt someone.

You can't do 3rd gear pulls on a road with any access from the sides. It's worth it to spend some time looking for a good safe spot to do tuning pulls. If it's 20+ minutes away and safe it's still cheaper than dyno time, and better at some aspects of tuning in my book.

It's funny...... when your car is slow , you want it faster , now that my car is fast I can basically use 1-2 and a little bit of third and have to stop. People who say they want 1000hp for the street are nuts

I use on ramps for the highway or the actual highway if its really late at night/early in the morning. You cant use streets ecspecailly with driveways. Its far too dangerous.
https://vid.me/Rh4Z Quick clip .... did a pull.... car freaking moves out, I am getting some breaking up up top, more than likely the fact I'm running rich. So much fun

I'm surprised you did not have Raif build you a tranny. He built mine as I told him I want to be able to run the mile and do some road racing. His pricing are great as well. I think my tranny is a stage 3plus or stage 4 and the pricing did not break the bank but still it was not cheap. If that makes sense. His stages are cheaper than most.

I don't see the point in purchasing a stock rebuilt transmission. I'm saving for a ppg dogbox. Technically speaking you can't "build" a dsm tranny, your just adding stronger oem components. I can't imagine destroying a 4K dollar jacks tranny..

Don't worry, the ppg gear sets break as well.

Above anything else it really pays to learn to build your own transmission with dsm's. I break at least one a year.
I guess I was thinking if your busting a straight cut dogbox then you sure as hell would bust a helical cut....

Technically helical gears are a stronger design. The main advantage of the aftermarket straight cut gears are the materials and process used.
I cant wait to get the dogbox in the car, there is two options a diff or a spool. Im assuming for street use I want the diff? Does the spool lock the drivetrain 50/50? Im guessing the spool is stronger?

At the end of the day seems like folks are switching to auto trannies with these cars since the mani trannies break.like Donnie said your only insurance is to learn how to rebuild them yourself. Wish I had a garage and accessible backyard to do it myself.
