I have a mechanic friend that is going to R&R my manual Transmission. I wanted to make sure he had all the parts he needs to make it a smooth repair. What should i bring him?
I already have a new Master/Slave Cylinder. What fluid? do I need a gasket? Thanks

Dot 3 for the clutch, Mitsubishi Diaqueen for Trans fluid. No gaskets in the trans, only RTV. Mitsubond or Grey Permatex. Maybe a SS line from the new Master to the slave.
If you don't have a Mitsubishi Dealer then my choice of alternate fluid in the trans is Pennzoil Syncromesh.
Greetings Fellow Kansan!!!

Thanks for the quick reply, Also good to see more DSM guys in the KC area. I do have a new SS line along with reservoir for my cylinders. Ill get in contact with a dealer to find the fluids and RTV

You are on the right track. Glad you have a Mitsu dealer close by.
Oh, I am in SEK so I am about 2 1/2 hrs straight south on 75 highway. ;)

Good suggestion Vegas! Thanks! Well maybe the triple disk might be a bit pricey....but good advice! :thumb:

They are YELLOW so you should be able to visually tell but as for the clamp force, unless you have driven it, you won't know if it is a 2300, 2600, 2900. Should grab real well, and a stiffer clutch pedal than original!

The pedal is most definitely stiff and i know its an aftermarket clutch from previous cars i have driven with upgrades. It doesnt slip at all so i know its still good. I just dont know which one is in it or if i should worry about it.. Also dont know which flywheel it has. It seems like it might be a lightweight of some type judging by how fast the RPMS fall off when clutching at high rev...

After doing alot of reading it sounds like Redline MT-90 is the go to stuff. Do we use the same MT-90 in the transfer case? If so the ammount i need is 3 total Quarts = 2.3Q for Trans and .5Q for Tcase?

Shockproof doesn't have the gear lube qualities like MT90. Correct me if I am wrong. It MAY help as an additive but I don't think it should be ran in the transmission. While I'm there, the transfer case would take light weight shockproof and the rear dif heavy weight. You guys chime in. I know others are running different fluids than me. Maybe Tim @twicks69 can give some advice.

I would try Mitsubishi Diaqueen in the transmission first actually. The reviews have been really good and Jacks's really recommends it.

I also had a ACT 2600 in a previous car and really enjoyed it. There are better clutches out there but I think for the money they are pretty solid.

I second what 1990TSIAWDTALOM said as I wouldn't run Shockproof in a DSM transmission either. And definitely try and speak with Tim @ twicks69 When your ready to upgrade parts. Tim is extremely helpful when purchasing parts, as he is a wealth of knowledge, and the fastest shipper I have ever seen.
