So I am still in the middle of doing a HG and timing belt job on my 1G but I am running several things that I need assistance on. I have tried to do as much searching as I can on these topics but I just want some clarification. I have had my 1g for a couple months now so I'm still a novice. Although I've only driven it a couple times and it's dead in the water, I still love it and am still thrilled to have it.

Some newer info: Popped HG two weeks back. Just realized the head is a 2G head (G6/15) with a 1G manifold on a 6 bolt block. No proper porting or milling was done on the 2G head for a 6 bolt block or 1G manifold.

Questions/Concerns:

There's a plug on the water line which frightens me. Any info or pics on this would be great.

I have two clipped wires by the alternator. Power steering and oil dummy sensor are disconnected, is the blue wire for the power steering and the other for the dummy sensor? When the car was running the oil pressure gauge never worked.

After realizing the head is a 2G head on my 6 bolt block, should I buy a 1G head or a 2g manifold and get the proper machining done to the 2G head for the 6 bolt block? Possibly gasket match a 2g head for a 1g manifold? I've read the last option may not be the best idea. One of my family member's close friend does great machine work if that helps.

Thanks all.

Not sure on the wires but the capped water line is one of the lines that goes to the oil to water cooler that is sandwiched between the oil filter and the filter housing.

Power steering switch is yellow.
Oil pressure dummy light switch is yellow.
Oil pressure gauge unit sensor is blue.

As for the head -- if you have the means, find a 1G head.

Thanks! Found out it's a later model water pipe and I have a 90 so I don't have a water cooler

Thanks for the reply. Found out it was actually a 1g 7 bolt head so I still ended up buying a correct 1g head LOL
