Car drives fine if i stay under 60 but as soon as i speed up and go over 60mph it start shaking pretty bad , its more on the right front side . The faster it goes the more the car shakes , id say violently.
Things to be noted : i replaced the ball joints and the car shakes a bit less after but still shakes LOL
It does need an alignment (car pulls to the right ) but im sure thats not the issue.
Theres no play when i lift the car up to check the tire
The car shakes, not the steering wheel. The tires are balanced , theres no click when i turn. Brakes are good, rotors arent warped.

I would inspect the drive shaft. Make sure its not binding in the t-case. IIRC The have a slip joint at the t-case. You should have some amount of in/out play. But it shouldn't slip the point it Either bottoms out, or starts to wobble.

Then check the carrier bearings.

Check the U-Joints.

If its still making the noise/vibration. Try reinstalling the proper shaft after you rotate the rear U-Joint 90* Sometimes they had weights added to them to balance them, and if you install them in the incorrect orientation it causes a hell of a lot of NVH.

Haha I think he's just trying to get his post count up. At least there are on topic suggestions being said but it would help if everyone would actually read the OP's entire thread first...

Yeah just get back to us on Sunday Terrj. Hopefully we'll help you pin-point the vibration by then so you can enjoy speeding I mean driving normal again :)

The weather in NJ aint helping, it keeps raining on my days off and i have no garage so i do all my work on the drive way which isnt possible when it rains haha. I gotta get this done before i can move on and start rebuilding my transmission and motor. :banghead::banghead:

I put a rear axle repair bearing in 02 Tahoe on the side of the interstate during a Thunderstorm two weeks ago. If you want your car fixed, a little rain ain't gonna do nothing but make your clothes wet. Granted I got payed 400$ to do it, and it only took about 2 hours. But still, if you want your car fixed why is rain stopping you?

If its only little then i wouldnt mind but its been raining all day and when i mentioned drive way it is still at the street level and full of puddles , it isnt high off the ground LOL. AND another thing im not an experience backyard mechanic so it takes time for me to fix it :idontknow:

No one learns without doing. Shit sucks sometimes. But you won't get anywhere in life with the attitude you can't do something.

I got my first DSM 10 years ago, now, maybe 11 I forget if it was 06 or 07 and in that time I went from not really knowing shit about cars to fixing them for a living, to owning my own shop. If I had not been a broke ass kid wanting to go fast I probably would have just stayed in a comfort zone too. But I kept pushing myself beyond, and I still do that every day. Thats life. Or you can sit inside in the rain and watch people. Maybe you got a boring ass 9-5 and you make money and can pay people but that sounds terrible to me.

Lmao that sounds like me tbh, id rather do the work myself i could but gotta save myself at least one or two days in case anything goes wrong and it always does with dsm . The car is still run and drive perfectly if i dont go fast anyway so it can wait till sunday

Upon inspecting the CV axle, the boots are still good. I didnt see any leaks or anything like that. How do you check the drive shaft ? By pulling it or twisting it ? If i still cant figure out whats wrong with it then ill bring it to the shop and let them find out whats going on and try to fix it myself

Well usually you put on the lift and drive it and have someone look at it and see if it wobbles. Other wise take it off and drop it off to local driveline specialist and he will spin it. Caution should be taken if you plan on doing it on jack stands. I advice you to take to a shop and let them do it. If you asking question like these then DO NOT go under the car with spinning parts. It is not safe.

A lot of people bring it to the shop and then try to fix it themselves and in the end they halfass it and blame the tech. I tell you and I hope you learn this early on. Their are things that you can do and there are things that you should not even try. I highly doubt that you can press u joints correctly or balance the driveshaft.

Hell to the no LOL, thats why i said earlier if it was indeed the driveshaft i would take it to the shop . I know better than that LOL

I went through this issue before in the past and the axle was the problem. Visually it looked fine. To check the axles hold the cup and try to twist the shaft. There should be very little to no play. Do both ends.

I had this issue and checked everything. Realized only had the problem when I foot was on gas peddle. Ended up being faulty fuel filter which wasn't supplying gas properly.

my 97 gst's rockers are rusted af and i need help, found a 99 gs for sale for 100 and i might use the rockers for my gst, is it possible?

Yes it's the same body. Cut out the old rockers and weld the new ones in. Since you have an eclipse the side skirts should hide most of the welds. Start a separate thread for this topic, and you will see many answers and instructions on this common repair.
