The Good thing about the 71R is that it's fairly affordable. Triple 8's and NT0's are pretty expensive depending on your size. I want to bump to a triple 8 at some point, but as it stands, the Dunlop's are on the car for now.
Can you guys get nankang ns-2r tires? These are as compareable to the AD08R tires, ive had a few friends switch to these and they like them and also are really good on price

The 1G is a fantastic chassis. Way easier to dial in front camber. You don't have the upper and control arms front and back like you do with the 2G, which is great for handling, but yeah....The 1G is a fantastic chassis. If I could get a 1G and racecar it out....I would.
That's interesting to hear that. I always ignorantly believed that the 1g dsms had a crappy chassis. This wasn't based on any fact or experience just people's comments over the years. My car is actually on a good path if I ever wanted to race it. I've already lightened it considerably and I plan on even more carbon fiber parts in the future. I also have a set of Feal 441s on the way, and I've completely replaced every bushing on the car with solid/polyurethane. Next mods would be upgraded sway bars. Thanks for the response.

Nankang tires don't have the best reputation over here. When it comes to tires, I'll always stick with proven ones. That's not to say that they aren't good. Hankook wasn't really a well known tire, but try and buy a set of RS3's.....They're sold out every where.

We have them here but ive never been a fan n hankook tires, idont like the tread and it shows its not great for water, the ns2r do seem to handle well in the wet so ive been told, im just waiting fr my current set of ultrac sessantas to go then im going to nankang,

I know they are somewhat a cheap tire but they do well for what they are, after this its ad08r is my next best tire

Welp. Two weeks out from the first event of the season. Fired the car up for the first time since November today and apparently, the stroker crank and Moroso Oil Pan are having a disagreement over space. So tomorrow after work, I get to go to the garage, dump all the fresh oil I just put in and take the pan off. Hopefully, I can persuade the pan to stop arguing with the crank and put it back on, otherwise it's back to the stock pan for now. #racecarproblems LOL

I thought these tanks were adjusted and designed for strokers so this did not happen?

That sucks though but it should be a somewhat simple fix, many use a hammer and tap the area down if its just a plate or something

Hoping that's the case. Since I only have this one event then don't go back out till August, I'll probably just put the stock one back on just cause I know it'll work. Then over summer get this pan to work. I'll know more when I pull the pan later. Gotta love doing things twice!!

Yeah better safe and work now then damage parts,

I still cannot believe it dont clear, like what company makes a pan stock and not consider different options! Like hello resewrch before you build idiots

What drives me crazy is my buddy's G4CS has the same pan. No issues. Now, I don't know if the flange for the pan on that block is further from the crank, but that was not what I wanted to have happen so close to raceday LOL

I thought only the deck height was different so it should work, maybe the crank centerline to pan flange is different. Maybe you can measure it and get your friend to check aswell,

Got the pan down yesterday. And as I thought........El smacko. Looks like the counter balance was hitting. So while my buddy cleaned off the bottom of the block, I took the hammer and massaged the pan a bit. Marked the pan with a sharpie, put the pan back up with a couple bolts, spun the motor with the plugs out, and double checked that it wasn't hitting. Thankfully it wasn't. Brought the pan to work and cleaned really well in the parts washer. Now, to put the pan back in....Again, and get ready for Pocono next weekend.

yay it was a pretty simple fix then, glad you can use this pan now for your event

This pan issue only really effects the stroker setups?

2.0s are long rod 2.0s are fine?

Wish I had a definitive answer to that. As you can see, it was just grazing the pan. If you're still using the 2.0 crank, I imagine you'll be fine, but I have absolutely no data to that effect. If you do decide to go with the pan, do yourself a favor, and do a dry run before sealing it. I use the right stuff which is the best sealant in my opinion, but god help you if you need to get the pan off after it sets up.

Well, spent some time on the car Saturday. Put the pan on, spun the motor by hand and it was hitting lightly somewhere else. Couldn't even hear it, felt it when I was spinning the motor. Pulled the pan down, "adjusted" it and put it back on.....No hit. Put everything back together, fired it up and let it run for a good 45 minutes. All good! Pocono bound this weekend!!

I apologize if you've already answered this question, but what aftermarket oil pan are you using and is it any larger in fluid capacity than stock?

Not a problem. I'm running the Moroso aluminum oil pan. Got trap doors and increases capacity to 6.25 quarts. Apparently, these pans don't like stroker motors, but it's been corrected.
