What did you use to tap your valve cover for those 8 A/N connections. I was just thinking about doing that the other day.

Hey bud.

I don't have those answers because I took this valve cover off of a GSX I recently parted out. Looks like a standard drip and weld job.

Thanks

Got my Front_Line Fab dipstick handle assembled finally.

I dropped my car off at EFIspecialties this past weekend, also go get some maintenance done on the gsx. More to come!

After dropping my car off at EFI Specialties this past weekend I drove over to Southern Maryland and grabbed a 95 Talon parts car. Partout is currently posted in the classifieds section. Ill be busy stripping this down for a couple days.

I should have my silver gsx back in a week or so! stay tuned.

The talon part out is pretty much done. A guy is coming up from down south to pick up the AWD parts in a week or so.

Nothing crazy has change with my car. I picked it up from EFIspecialties about a week ago. I have been sorting little things out here and there. My dash, and center dash was not illumining when i turned on my lights. Couple fuses, and a Dimmer switch and it all works now. I will be swapping to a new head unit soon, maybe a double din if I can afford it.

I also recently sold my Autopower bolt in cage, and traded my black 18" wheels for some Evo 9 Enkei's.
The auto power cage got in the way of what I was doing in the car. And due to its design you lose your rear speakers. And I really wanted them back. This is mostly going to be a fun street car and I want some of my luxuries back. I will eventually put a harness bar in it.

More to come.

Ahh.. So its not a DIY ..... was curious if he made his own.

I purchased the quick latches a while ago, but I would consider it a DIY. There really is no instructions on how to do it. Making a hole in the bumper, in the same location on both sides, and mounting the brackets that I had to fab up was decently hard. Took longer then I thought it really should.

They have been great so far tho. I don't have to install that annoying bolt, above the side marker light anymore.

I will be putting some new wheels on the GSX soon and working on exterior stuff.

I see a forward facing turbo in my future!

But in the mean time I just purchased my CarboNetics CSL trunk! couple months wait but Im super excited. They have been very response during this whole process.

Pics coming soon.

Update 3/6/17

I had a couple hours to spare this Saturday, and decide to swap the wheels on my GSX. The new ones are XXR 969s in 18". The front poke a little bit but I don't mind at all! They look wide and grippy :thumb:
Also the sun was just starting to set, so i snapped a couple shots of the engine bay along with my new oil cap ~HKS~

Project Update 3/9/17

This update is going to be a little different! I am going to show you my most recent car part purchase, but I am also going to be reviewing a tool I bought for the 4G63 as well.

First up! The EuroeXport Valve spring compressor tool. Initial impressions? The tool is made out of billet and is anodized black. Comes with bolts for securing the tool and a magnetic screw driver.
Cost was pretty fair for what it allows you to do, in such a short amount of time. I bought mine through STM as they had the kit in stock.

Overall this tool allowed me to disassemble my 4G63 head within an hours time. I will say that I am not impressed by the bolt that they supplied with the kit. I am referring to the bolt that is used to compress the valve bucket. Half way through pulling the springs, I started to notice the bolt just felt as if it had been stressed, or had to much tension on it. I pulled the bolt and the threads were messed up on the bottom portion of the bolt. I ended up having to buy a higher quality bolt. As well as chase the body of the tool with a tap, to clean up the threads from when the bolt got tight.

I think there is to much tension for the bolt supplied. The new one I bought not a single issue with threads messing up. I am not sure if this is just a isolated experience or what? But food for thought.
I would however buy this kit again. Once I got passed my issues, pulling the rest of the springs was effortless.

Next part of my update: NEW PARTS!!!!!! Paul V's Rear lower toe arms!
Paul had good communication, and shipping was fast. These are going to complement my rear upper camber arms once its all installed!

IMG_4336.JPG

More part updates coming soon! (I am going through a little bit of a suspension/chassis/brake phase LOL)

It's not an isolated incident I to purchased the same kit from STM and had the exact same issue,
the bolt that compresses the springs gets binded and acts as if it's being torqued into the wrong threads.

I enders up using assembly lube and a vice with a long breaker bar to run the bolt up and down repeatedly untill it loosened up.

A 400ftlbs impact gun failed to fully torque the bolt on the first go.

That is exactly what happened with me man. I think it is a design flaw that needs to be looked into. I ended up just tapping it and upgrading my bolt and not a single issue after that. Great tool just need a revamp.

Part update 3/22/17.

March has been like Christmas for me! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Orderd some new fluids for the GSX. I have no idea when the drivetrain was last serviced... So I will be doing this on the first warm weekend we get.
I also ordered ARP extended studs for the front.... hmmmm???... Scroll down :)

IMG_0002.JPG

Some open ended lugs to go with the ARP studs??? :) keep scrolling.........................

Tada!!!!! BBK for the DSM. I really liked SPM's CTS-V brake kit and have wanted it since I bought my DSM. After this tax season i decided to pull the trigger, and I am glad I did. These things are huge!! They will look great with the extend studs and lugs.

I decided to also pick up JMFab's billet brake res cap. Mine was all faded and this is will be a nice bay upgrade. JMFab never lets me down!

I have one more small item coming in the mail. More updates coming soon.

Thanks,

Build Update: 4/17/17

I had a carbon bumper vent, left over from another car I had owned. I decided last weekend that I wanted to install it before I got my bumper painted. Something I plan to do this summer.

Here are the results.
Not sure how much it will help with under hood temps? But any extra air cant hurt.

Project Update 4/24/2017
Review of SPM CTS-V Brake Kit.

Yesterday it had stopped raining long enough here in VA, to allow me to actually go out side for longer then an hour at a time. I took the opportunity to install my CTSV brake kit and ARP extend wheel studs.

Overall I am very pleased with the kit. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a bolt on brake upgrade out of the box. Everything was straight forward and easy to install. Just like doing a normal brake job honestly. I decide to use the SS Lines I currently have because my hardline nuts are rounded off. I didn't want to risk my car being down for a week trying to fix that problem so I just decided to reuse my lines. I will install the new SS lines later on.

The only issue I had with this kit, was that I was missing two caliper bracket bolts. The kit was suppose to come with four, and I only received two. It wasn't nothing a trip to the hardware store couldn't fix. But a small inconvenience none the less. I reached out to SPM today and they are sending me the two bolts today. Great Customer Service.

Pics.

Not much going on with the car. My buddy presented me a deal on his EVO 9 and I have been battling the idea of keeping the GSX or selling it for an EVO. Both are awesome in their own ways, but something about the GSX just keeps me from moving forward. Guess well see! The EVO does need a lot of work and just not sure if I want to let go of a non-issue GSX, for an EVO that needs a lot of attention.

Anyways in regards to the GSX I have mostly been focused on the interior and just overall maintenance of the car. Last weekend I changed out the Atl and Pwr steering belts. It so nice to start the car, and not have the exhaust overpowered by two squealing belts.

Also turned my attention on the trunk interior. Eventually I want to change the grey plastic to black but that will be later on. As of now I swapped the carpet out for a black one, and installed my cargo net and hatch cover.
I'm going to coat the hatch cover again to make it a darker black. After this all that is left is my radio.

More updates coming soon.

Thanks,

Update 5/30/17
Changed my Trans, and Rear diff fluid this weekend. The Trans feels great with this Redline 75w140NS I used.

I am dropping off my bumper for paint tonight & I just ordered my Carbontrix reverse hood vent today.

I entered the car into the Boxer fest (SUBY event) car show on June 11th. I am hoping my car places well in the others platform category.

More updates coming soon.
