So, I have a 1991 Eclipse GSX, and my Starter switch stopped broke open, and Is not any good any more.
I have a push start set up, but I do not know how to wire up without a key. I have searched for a solution, but I can not find a decent diagram for a 1G. This local guy wants $150 to wire it up and I am avoiding that. Here is the link to what Push Start button I have.

So I'm actually working on a write up for this exact thing LOL. So you'll have to remove the ignition lock cylinder and leave it in the on position when you pull it out. Unplug the ignition harness on the right side of the steering column. Then either get a pigtail and wire it up or cut your factory one and wire it in. Its a lot of effort removing the steering wheel lock completely and much easier to by pass it.

I'm going to complete the write up on Tuesday when I'm off work if you can wait til then I don't have the diagram and details handy at the moment.

EDIT: I just realized you asked this like 3 months ago mybad ...

Is it just unfixable???

I still await your write up

If you still have it go ahead and post it, I'm looking to use it still. I needed a rebuild so I still haven't gotten to the interior restoration yet.

So the one I bought is like this one it looks like they all have proximity sensors in those kits now then when I bought it a year ago:

http://m.ebay.com/itm/Car-Alarm-System-Passive-Keyless-Entry-Engine-Ignition-Start-Push-Button-Remote-/232274767344?hash=item3614a7adf0:g:0uwAAOSw4CFYzKpv&_trkparms=pageci%3Ac7e5a302-23f3-11e7-b978-74dbd1805eec%7Cparentrq%3A7f6de27915b0a2af577c31a5fff8f377%7Ciid%3A14

Now I only installed this part of the kit with the RFID (circle looking sensor vs the bar):

http://m.ebay.com/itm/Car-SUV-Engine-Push-Start-Button-RFID-Lock-Ignition-Starter-Driving-Security-Kit-/322461653839?hash=item4b14365b4f:g:ABEAAOSwXYtY1H8X&_trkparms=pageci%3A6e025081-23f3-11e7-b9b1-74dbd1a05534%7Cparentrq%3A7f6b955115b0a788499aaf87fffd3afb%7Ciid%3A7

But I honestly recommend using a passive system so you don't have to put the fob near the RFID sensor (think of a fob you put on a sensor to open a door at a building). A kit with a proximity sensor is more expensive but the convenience of leaving it in your pocket in my opinion is worth it. I'm going to try the proximity system next I haven't bought it yet. Something like this:

http://m.ebay.com/itm/NEW-8Pcs-Car-Security-System-Alarm-Start-Keyless-Entry-Remote-Start-Push-Button-/332156720526?hash=item4d5615558e:g:Z4UAAOSwhQhYy3oB&_trkparms=pageci%3Ac7e5a302-23f3-11e7-b978-74dbd1805eec%7Cparentrq%3A7f6de27915b0a2af577c31a5fff8f377%7Ciid%3A25

Problem I have noticed is none have a key in the fob compatible with the DSM key so I'm still playing with that part of it. I was just hoping this would help for the simple racing push button or if someone wants the RFID kit here you go.. LOL
