So I am replacing a few gaskets, the car ran like extreme crap. The manifold was glowing red and I was running rich not even boosting. I'm stock besides a fmic. Anyways, my turbo was leaking from the clamp that holds it together, as well as the manifold to turbo, and o2 and downpipe donut. it had hesistation throughout normal gas pedal use and wot was a joke bucking @ 9lbs. I've done boost leak test and replaced as much as I could find which was only a few spots.

Would this be pretty good reason for car running like the above states?

That would be a yes....why are you running rich. Engine Management?

Its called a band clamp. Thats what holds the 2 sides together. Gotta have that sucker on tight.

If it became loose enough that it was physically leaking exhaust flow there's a good chance the turbine wheel rubbed the housing as well....so even after tightening the clamp there's a chance it may not be *right*.

Damn, legitimately forgot to click "watch thread" . Sorry guys, I've replaced the turbo with a used 16g from my buddy (also was looking into getting a eBay 16g and rebuilding it with genuine MHI parts but found out that my last chance of that was probably 10 years ago ). When I took the old 14b off, the actual turbine fins themselves were ok on both cold/hot sides. I didn't notice any markings on the hot side/cold side either.

My car was running like extreme crap! I've replaced all gaskets from manifold down to Downpipe gasket and wow what a difference. I replaced the KS with a oem KS and o2 sensor with a Bosch. Seems to run well now for 205k miles!
