Hello, I have a honest question out of pure curiosity...the 1g dsm comes with a stock 14b or 13g for auto and the direct bolt upgrade would be 16g or td05 20g...the 2g comes with a t25 and the direct replacement upgrade is a big t28, but you can also run a 14b or 16g with slight modification(j pipe) as an upgrade....now my question is what about running a big t28 on a 1g?...now before anyone shuns me, like I said this question is out of pure curiosity, an experimental thought if you will

Yes, you can run the T-25 or T-28 on a 1g if you wanted to pipe it in on the cold side, the hotside is a bolt on affair.

Thanks that was very helpful, I asked because it seems to be kind of unheard of...well next question would be from a performance stand point, I know a lot of dsm'ers would say 16g big/small or better would be the way to go but I'm looking more to a balance of reliability and power even tho the two don't mix I would like to be as close as possible...the build I plan to have is in the range of 300-350hp and the car would be more of a daily and weekend toy rather than a daily road demon LOL or track ran, so is running a big t28 with those numbers in mind pointless or something to consider...I am also taking spool time in consideration as well

Depending on how you measure the hp you will likely never see over 300 on a t28. If you are FWD and are using a dynojet then you will likely see over 300 but if you are AWD and using a Mustang dyno it isn't a likely scenario. With that said my opinion is that the B16G is an all around better street turbo than the t28. The B16G still spools up plenty quick and has a wider available power band than the t28.

I'm FWD and 300 is more of my goal but anything pass that would be nice, I'm not really looking for big numbers I say 300-350hp just for breathing room...I plan to of course have your basic bolt on and a few extras but undecided if I'm going to up my fuel and get a tune....if I do any of that I will probably go with a 2g MAF and dsmlink with 550cc injectors and a 190lph fuel pump I will probably do cams and some mild head work as well but my bottom end will be stock..like I said I'm more prone to the balance idea of my build opposed to the all out power...I have a 5yr old daughter and this build is like my dd/toy...the t28 is like an experimental idea opposed to doing the typical 16g build I was kind of looking into being different

You can run a t28, they are just usually more expensive and less effecient at what they do. I want one because it's a slight bump in horse power and doesn't require me to reroute my intercooler piping and oiling and coolant lines, or force you to run a front mount intercooler. So on a 2g it looks stock with a nice bump in flow. That's why they are more expensive. On a 1g a factory based 16g is a much cheaper and easier option with more horse power potential

Everyone has their own definition of unique. I think a bone stock dsm is more unique than anything you could ever build, because you can't find them in decent condition anymore
