How long did it take you to get confirmation of your order?

So far I show a pending charge with my bank but nothing in my email. Pretty used to nearly instantly getting that automated confirmation of something you order from a vendor so im curious if this is normal from them as I haven't ordered from them previously.

ETA I ordered yesterday btw.

EETA: NM just got a tracking number from fedex.

Yeah it will take a few days. When I needed a different BOV flange, I just called them up and they had it in the mail that day. The FMIC may have to have all the parts put in the box and double checked before it leaves. I have had mine for 3 years, and IIRC it took about 2 weeks to get, but I have slept since then so I could be entirely off there. I would just call and inquire on the ETA. They were easy for me to work with.

The status on mine took like a month to process. I did order with tial bov flange so that could have be an issue. I ordered it in Black Friday and received it a week after Christmas. Over all I was not in a rush so it didn't bother me too much.

The confirmation of order email just seems so common and quickly executed now days the lack of it concerned me at first. But I got an email from FedEx which showed the intercooler pickup date scheduled and date it should arrive so I'm good.

Has a sizeable dent on the front bottom edge, mounting tabs are a complete joke, and some of the welds are meh. Noticed contaminants in a few of the welds from piss poor prep priot to welding.

P.S. Im a TIG welder in a sheet metal fabrication shop. To most people the dent and tabs would be all thats noticed. But the lazyness or inept welder iritates me. It doesnt take but a moment with a good file to clean up edges on aluminum, wipe everything down (including filler rods) and a well trained monkey can run a decent weld on thick aluminum.

A gusset on the tabs would have really stiffened them up too. Middle tab dorsnt line up well with the hood latch bracket support. A little more effort and it would be a solid product for the money but all the little things combined iritates me, even at the price.

ETA: the dent was a bit of a suprise as the thing was packaged very well.

Why were you not exactly happy? I'm debating between this one and the punishment racing kit. Since they are about equal in price but PR intercooler is 5" wider and is capable of 650hp VS. VRSF is 500 HP from what I read.
I read the VRSF is 800hp capable. People have gone pretty fast down the 1/4 with them, that's what really matters though.

I run the VRSF and am happy with it. Mine is on a 1g. Is it a ETS unit...no. Does it do the job, yes. My son has had both PR and VRSF on his 2g and prefers the VRSF unit also but just stepped up to a $820.00 ETS. For me, that is a lot of money so I will be fine with my "cheepo" unit LOL. We both liked the shorter route that the VRSF unit provides and yes you need to use their J pipe. Now that I am on a HX40, I am needing to make a longer tube for the compressor to FMIC coupling.
For comparing a VRSF and a ETS core, here is a picture of his that he just got last week. The ETS core is 5" thick.

Look at the fin density between the two when you have a chance. You're eyes will open up on which unit is better. You can make 800hp on a stock cam and intake but that doesnt mean its efficient. You guys need to realize a vrsf kit is still a cheap china intercooler, as is the PR kit. They order it from china and just slap their names on it. No doubt it works well but, at a certain point you're going to need a more efficient core if you plan on making a serious drag car.

With that said, I dont mind cheap ebay cores on budget cars as they serve their purpose.

IF ETS, still offered their kit and not just the intercooler, I would have probably gone that route. But I didnt feel like fabbing up the piping since it would mean a lot of trips back and forth to work before it was done.

I didnt use their J pipe, but the one I had was close enough, so I just need to tweak it a little at work and it should be fine. Works as is, but puts the feed pipe at the bottom at an angle that interfers with the atmospheric dump from the Tial WG.

Also working on some simple alumjnum duct work to avoid high coolant temps in city traffic like the last time I had a front mount on the car.

I will probably take pictures and post them today at some point.
