Hey Zach, fyi it's 2G not G2 :) Welcome to the site and what parts were you looking for?

DSM Link is a great option for tuning (it's not a real stand alone) and should be plenty for your goals. Check the vendors section for websites but I generally prowl extremepsi, JNZ Tuning, MAP performance and STM.

Oh thanks LOL, told ya I was new. I know the car will need to be tuned. However I don't want to send my ecu out. Looking for racing seats and belts. Suspension and brake kits

Also looking at my current build if there are any must need parts that are not listed so I don't blow it up.

Looks like you got a well equipped car.
For the tuner, get the link (most flexible for tuning),
When i buy pieces,
Extreme psi = competitive price and great shipping cost.

JNZ = If you look for oem, they are the best.

Rtm = because i'm in canada LOL and I got my cobra front big brake from them.

However I don't want to send my ecu out.
I sent mine out to Ecmlink, from the time I dropped it off at the post office it was back in 4 or 5 days... Very quick...
Another alternative, keep an eye on the classifieds and you will often see ecmlink w/ecu and save some scratch in the process.

Thanks for all the info guys. I can see I'm going to like this forum. By chance anyone have an idea what the cars hp might be pushing now with the 20g turbo 97 stock ecu with stock boost levels ?

First, welcome. As far as horsepower numbers, you won't make much over the stock 210 without a tune. And for that, DSMLink won't let you down (it will even give you a fairly accurate estimated HP number). You'll want to invest in a wideband oxygen sensor, too if you don't already have one.

I noticed in your parts list that you listed an unorthodox crank pulley. Please get rid of that and put a stock one back on. The solid aftermarket pieces don't offer any vibration dampening and could damage your crankshaft. It's not worth the 4lbs it saves.

Welcome to the DSM world. If you have limited cash, then get a wideband and boost gauge first to monitor your air/fuel and boost, respectively. With stock boost you're not going to get more horsepower. Next get a manual boost controller to turn up your boost. With stock injectors and Ecu you can increase boost to 16psi (do not go beyond 16psi without additional mods) safely without getting fuel cut. With these mods, you can reach about 250hp. Next get EcmLink like everyone else has mentioned for tuning. A afpr is a must if you're planning to go beyond 400hp. It's good insurance to get a afpr whether you're at 250hp or 400hp to monitor your fuel pressure. Start your goal low as you go to get the hang of it, instead of going big and you don't know what you're doing to your engine. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips. That's the route I'll go

You should try modern automotive performance it is located in Minnesota but they have customers through out the world. They have everything you are looking for as well as they make sure you are satisfied with everything!

Definitely go ecm link. I'm a new member but I've been in the scene for about a year and a half now. I was on a black box but it's not user friendly. I switched to link and I'll never go back. As my shop teacher once said about mig welding "it's so easy a blind monkey can do it", ecmlink is the same way. Not to mention ECMTUNING has their own forum for link. I second the fella that said ditch that crank pulley. If ya don't have the cash to get a true fluid dampner, stick to stock. The light weight pulleys will do more harm than good like he said. As far as widebands go, stick with innovative. I had a big boner for aem and many tuners do not care for them. They're not as reliable or as accurate as innovate is. Mtx-l is a great gauge. My 2 best friends run them and I like them so much I'm ditching my aem for the mtx-l. I also noticed you're from central pa, what part? I'm in selinsgrove. Directly between harrisburg and Williamsport.
