I wanted to start this thread, so experienced members can contribute to it, and those inexperienced like myself can learn from our peers.

I hope this isn't an issue to anyone, i don't see how it could be.

We all know to some extent how Any trans works.
My current interest is understanding how our Viscous Coupler works.

i fail to see how this part connects to anything if its at then end of a shaft.

Its best to get a repair manual that has the detailed explanation of how it goes together. I know theres one floating around on the web somewhere. As for how it works, its rather simple if you know manual transmissions. Look at most 5 speeds and they are all roughly the same. Gear flows are nice to look at as well. Itll explain how the torque is transferred throughout each gear. I find that understanding that will tell you roughly most of the information you are looking for. Comparing other 5 speeds to ours will then tell you what parts are different. Minus the material information that is. Some good, some bad. From that, youll have a lot more questions as to why they engineered the part how they did. I duno, my 2 cents :p
