I am building a 2.4 longrod hybrid and we can't get the damm thing into timing we retarded exausst 4 degrees and stil nothing can anyone with actual experience help?
What do you mean "can't get the damn thing into timing"?

Due to the deck height differences in 4g64 vs 4g63 you either need to use 4g64 dohc cam gears, or degree the cams in with adjustable gears, a solid lifter, degree wheel, and dial indicator.

I just ordered 4g64 gears

Update! 4g64 cam gears are in but lifters are sticking were waiting on some evo 8 lifters now to replace them and see what happens next.

did you decide what build you were going with i am in the same boat trying to decide which build to go with my self as of now i am trying to talk to people that are actually running these builds to see how they like it and hear there pros and cons

I am currently building a 7 bolt 4g63t and I have always wanted a stroker, I have been reading on both built 2.0 and 2.3, I am looking to make 600-800awhp. One question which one will make it and still be daily driver.
Whats goin on i have a 2.0 daily drivin it jus rips its a beast on the street i got a 3076 makin like 500 its a beast

The 2.0 and the 2.3 discussion is something that can go on forever. You have to ask yourself what you really want and what you will be doing the most. I personally went with the 2.3 due to the awd swap which added extra weight so ill be needing the extra torque, i also chose the 2.3 because its so much more responsive outside of boost. And speaking of boost, the 2.3 will help with turbo lag due to the increase in displacement, which is always a good thing. Find your needs and choose the route that best supports those needs. The 2.3 works better for me and i really cant imagine going back. My only recommendation is , unless you have to do a full rebuilt stay 2.0 and save the money for performace parts, BUT if you have to do a full rebuild consider the 2.3 since its about the same price anyways. Extra power for roighly the same cost why not? But like i said. To each their own

Thanks for the info, I have been reading other posts, about the pros and cons, I have always wanted a stroker, however I am looking to have a realistically bad a** talon awd. Where I am at the competition is evos, wrxs, neon srt4s, hondas, and the new genre of muscle cars. I like loud and fast. Also where I live we have no emissions laws, so you can run a race car, as long as it has head lights, tail lights, and insurance plus plates. My main concern is which is gonna give me the range of horse power I want and still drive daily.
Jap Muscle

No big drag teams us the 2.3 any more

That's a ton of work

Unless you're "living your life a quarter mile at a time", looking at what the top teams do doesn't really matter. Like others have posted, I've been running a 2.4 for 14 years now, 7 years before that on 2.0's. I love the driveability of the larger displacement and I've taken mine to 8500rpm dozens of times with no issues. For a street/strip car, it's a great setup.

I am aware that the the big guys arent running 2.3s anymore but i aim more for the out of boost response, quicker spool, and extra torque. To each his own
