OK guys, so I've posted previously on my hanging rpm issue... I think I finnaly figured it out and it's a crack I put in the intake manifold.. Well.. A hole.. Long story short when I pulled the heads off my motor the very first time I had the lower manifold mounts still bolted on and used my cherry picker to rip it off.. I quick Steeld it back together but obviously it didn't work.. So I'm going to pull my entire motor again and clean it up and change everything out and rebuild it. I have a rebuild kit for a stock 420a but a few of my piston rings snapped when I opened the package, thought it was something else and I wasn't careful. But if I would go get the rings replaces at an orileys or advanced auto would the rings be the same? Or would they be a different size? I'm new to putting new pistons on a motor and just wanted to double check before I waste my money and destroy my block at the same time.... Sorry if there stupid questions but Im going tl use this thread while rebuilding my motor.. I'll post pictures as well so others can see as well.. Thanks guys!!

I rebuilt my 420 motor last summer and did everything and used an oriellys rebuild kit (Sealed Power) and they worked great, had no issues with them during install or using them for the past 7 months. only thing is to check your cylinder bore size. for my case, my engine cylinders were in good shape so I did a quick hone and used standard size rings for mine. as far as reusing the old rings, I wouldn't chance it. since your already there just replace em all with new and not have to worry about anything ya know what I mean?

I broke 2 of my brand new rings... I can't get individual rings as far as I've found. The pistons are exact same bore and same with the rings. It's just an oem rebuild kit.. And I really don't feel like going and buying another full set of rings for 100+ $....

Sorry for the late reply been working a lot lately, the kit was ordered online and I'm not the person who ordered it. It came with my car. I determined I'm just going to use the old ring I need to replace the one that broke and eventually put forged internals after I get some money saved up.
