I just got a set of 6597m855 wiseco pistons and was wondering what the difference between them and the newer k560m85...

everything appears to spec out the same.. is it just one set being an older version?

k597 is for 2g rod with 22mm wrist pin and k560 is for 1g rod with 21mm wrist pin. and K597m855 has 85.50mm diameter, k560m85 has 85.00mm.
Hope this helps you,
So they are 2g pistons not 1g... 1g eagle rods would need to be machined to fit correct?

Yes, but it might not be possible. Not enough meat around the little end. Manley offers an off the shelf rod for your application
Eff me.. i bought these off the classifieds for my eagle rods... now i have to sell either the pistons or the rods and get something that fits right.

That's correct unless your eagle rods are for 6 Bolt with 22mm small end. but I don't recommend to machine the small end.

Most aftermarket rods aren't ready to run right out of the box anyways. The brass bushings need to be sized. I had to slightly open up the little ends on my last set of Eagle rods to get the proper pin clearance. That said, there might not be a whole millimeter worth a meat to remove...

I wonder if the little end of the Eagle H-Beam rod itself is the same size between the 22mm and 21mm versions (meaning the only difference between the rods is the little end bushing size). If so, you may just be able to have a machine shop press out the small 21mm bushings and press in a 22mm bushing. Alternatively, if the rods are physically the same size, and the 21mm bushing is simply 1mm thicker, I don't see how machining it down would be an issue.

If you get new rods, the off-the-shelf Eagle rod you want is CRS5900MC3D. It's a 6 bolt rod sized for a 22mm wrist pin. I'm currently running this rod in my Galant on Ross pistons.

I wonder if i could get a straight answer from eagle on that.. id rather sell the rods to someone here than buy new pistons.. but if they can be finagled fairly inexpensive id go that route.

It's worth a shot. If the bushing can be safely machined, I'd go that route. That should be fairly cheap for a machine shop to do. And, from my experience, it will need to be done anyways to get the proper pin clearance, however, not to the degree that will be required to fit your 22mm pins. Still, you're killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

You have a caliper? If so, post up some measurements of the little end of the rod, and the bushing size. If somebody here with a 21mm version can do the same, you can at least do a rough comparison.

Here is a pic of caliper with bushing

Thin portion with bushing is 3.52mm on my caliper...

Bushing appears to be .61mm

I just ordered a set of Manley 1g rods with 22mm small ends. They were $323 shipped.

You'd be better off getting a set of hybrid rods and selling yours for what you have in them. A bigger pin is a nice thing.

After measuring i would agree.. that bushing is thinner than i hoped... eagle makes one too so ill put rods up for sale and see what happens

+1
Stronger and you will have more choices for off-the-shelf pistons in the future, if rods have 22mm small end.

Sweet. Make sure you take your pistons to the machine shop when they hone the rods out. They need to mic each pin, and hone the brass bushing out to get the proper clearance.

There shouldn't be any variation in the pins, but I've found the rod bushings typically do vary. It's easiest just to take the whole assembly to the machine shop so nothing gets screwed up.

Yea ill take it all in together so they can do it right and match cylinder walls to pistons and rings at the same time along with polishing the crank. While im there i might as well get it all done
