I know people are going to laugh at me and say just remove it but lets just start out knowing I like Cruise and I use it often

Now that that is said I am wondering if anyone knows if all cars came pre-wired for cruise control even if the car doesn't have cruise. My 90 has the connector under the hood where the 90-91 cruise vacuum setup goes but After pulling the dash out (mostly) I can't seem to find connector C-01 which is what connects to the cruise control module or ECU if you will.

Does anyone have any knowledge of where this might be? It should be under the driver's side of the dash above the fuse panel but I see no connector or something that looks like it would connect to the cruise ECU I have which might be out of a 92+ car ? If someone has a picture of what the ECU for a 90-91 car would be that would be excellent as well. I have both the 90-91 vacuum setup and the 92+ that mounts on the firewall because it is much cleaner and will not interfere with my IC piping.

Thanks in advance

Scott

C-01 is located by the relay box pictured below. It is the white connector and would branch from the shown location. I am not seeing a separate part number for a harness denoting w/ or w/o cruise control.

Thank you guys! I will have to take a look after this weekend.

Do either of you know if I can use the 91 and up system? the connector plugs right into the cruise unit under the hood...I just have to extend the wires to make it reach the back of the engine bay. The steering wheel controls are the same it is just the underhood components and maybe the ECU that are different.

Should be able to; I have a car with a '90 cruise system (motor and ECU) installed and operating in an otherwise '91 car. Only thing I did was extend the wires.

thanks man. Good to know before I throw everything in and then it is for naut.

I know this isnt the best picture but at the same time I think you will get the point when I say I don't see a connector up top by these relays or by the fuse panel......any thoughts? Am I close and just not looking hard enough or is there really nothing there?

Doesn't appear like it. I did not check it until now, but Mitsubishi ASA does define two of the four part numbers for the FWD '90 main body harness with the option code for auto-cruise control. Yours may not have it.

GAH! I guess that means I would have to wire it in myself... :( I really don't want to follow that much wiring around in the electrical manual. DAMNIT!!!! There must be a connector somewhere that is missing the wires going to the engine bay because there is the plug up by the air filter for the 90 style control box. Ok. Thankks for looking that up. I could have done that but didn't think about using ASA to find that out. Just thought I was blind ( really hoping I was blind)
