I have a 98 Eclipse RS. Absolutely stock except for one thing which I don't know if its stock or not. The car has a chip in it near the ignition switch that is sort of like an anti theft chip. If I pull the chip out the car, the car will not start after waiting about 5 minutes. If I place the chip back in I can start the car fine. Now here is the problem. Every once in the while, the car will not start what so ever. Turning the key will produce 0 sound in the engine and the car will not even try to start. This seems to be a problem with the chip and it always starts up after about 5 minutes of waiting it will do this regardless of the lights being on or off or anything else? Any ideas? Should I try to remove the chip or would that cause more problems? Any help would help! Another issue is that the car will not start if the lights are on. It will do that exact same thing previously mentioned!
