Hello folk, I'm trying to develop a game plan for my BEP T3 HX35 setup I'll be finishing up around 05/2017. My goal is to have a "fun" weekend car with a wide power band. This isn't a 1/4 mile car but one that I'll be driving around town for fun and doing fun pulls on the highway and back streets.

My current setup: stock 1g intake/head, TT rods with wiseco 8:5 pistons, bc 272 cams.

I'd really like to hear about people's opinions on cams and intake manifolds. Thanks for your help.

Get a 2g head and whatever intake manifold fits it. The stock 2g turbo intake is fine but an evo3 manifold would be better for mid range and top end. If that is not an option a cyclone that is PROPERLY actuated using a solenoid and ecu control would be best.... unless you're using a MAF. If you're using a MAF then the wastegate actuated cyclone would work ok but I strongly advise against using a WG actuator on an SD car because you won't be able to easily tune it properly.

As for cams, get anything in the mid rang. FP2, HKS 272's, or whatever else newfangled cams people are using. You don't need huge ones if you're not going for the most top end power.

I'd strongly recommend using a water to air intercooler for the insanely shorter intake piping and for the superior cooling capabilities. It will be a pita set up everything for it but you'll be happy you did if you go that route when you're done.

I already have hks 272 cams will be running a holset tuned for e 85 nextyear when I install it . I'm also on speed density with all the supports for it link and 1120s. Will be a sick track street car shortly .

I have evo 8 valve train installed with car in of engine in car. I have revved to 7000 rpms on a mustang dyno.
This was all cheap for me. stock intake I'll be installing hx40 with a
55 bep housing nrxt year . Might change cams next year too before I hit the dyno again for e 85 tune should be a lots of fun. and will hit the track soon .

If you want to run ethanol with this turbo I would recommend either a single in tank walbro 450lph fuel pump or dual 255lph in tank fuel pumps with a high flowing fuel filter and adjustable fuel pressure regulator such as Fuelab,Aeromotive etc...

The fuel pump or pumps should be rewired with either 8 or 10 gauge fused from the battery with high quality relay, relays 40-75 amp. 1600cc fuel injectors will keep your duty cycle down and are enough to run the engine out to 8500 assuming you have valvesprings for your bc 272 cams.

Stock fuel lines will work fine for this you just need -6 fittings on the stock fuel rail for the new filter and adjustable fuel pressure regulator, Extremepsi has a great kit for this.

It doesnt sound like you are trying to max out this turbo on ethanol, rather it sounds like you want the engine and associated parts to work well together at an optimum level rather than having any severe bottlenecks. A high quality air to air intercooler such as an ETS 3-4" and an FP cast exhaust manifold with external wastegate o2 housing to a nice flowing 3" exhaust system.
