Hello, I'm in desperate need of advice on this. I need to get the axles out and when I went to pull the lower control arm it's stock on both sides. I've tried many things and really don't know what else to do. Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Have you tried a pry bar?
You could remove the axel and hit the nut with a hammer ,
Or heat up the bushing abit

You can try an air hammer
Last resort you can do what I did and cut the control arm off (was on my 1g )

Hit that exact spot that you circled with a sledge hammer..HARD. if you don't knick it up a bit you aren't hitting it hard enough..When you hit it hard enough it'll pop right out. super easy.

You can also rent a ball joint fork and a kit from Autozone to remove and install it. Although I am not sure why you are pulling the ball joint out to take out the axels unless you are replacing them. You can disconnect the control arm further down where the bushing is then just swing the whole assembly out of the way. It is not in the picture you posted. Much easier.

Unbolt the control arms from the frame of the car and pull the knuckle that way, otherwise your going to have to buy new dust boots for the ball joints at the very least.

Here you go. Once you figure this out your life becomes ten times easier. Don't make it harder than it is.

No damage to the ball joint.. no damage to anything..no need to fight another bolt that might be stuck..Hit the knuckle. pow. it comes out. Everyone should learn this simple bit of..magic.

Thank you everyone who posted! I'll be trying that out now and letting you know how it went.
