oil city, Pennsylvania
so i recently rolled her over the 200k mark and she is STILL running like a beast !, i plan to park her for at least most of the winter this year and wanted to know what i should do / not do now that im over 200k miles,

other plans wile she is parked
1. rebuild engine (maybe still debating this one)
2. complete fluid change (ALL fluids)
3. straighten out the front bumper and fix any miss alignment there is (sadly the prev owner swiped something and when they replaced the front fender they did a shitty job, or its crooked not sure)

is there any maint. i should be doing to keep the engine running great with this many miles, also i have switched over to full synthetic when i did the last oil change

Rebuild motor......is there an objective reason to do so? Smoking? Knocking? Burning oil? What im getting at is dont fix what isnt broken. Maintenance is one thing but this is quite another.

Yes what pauleyman said and probably just a complete run through of the entire vehicle. Suspension, underbody, steering, control arms etc. I would take advantage of having it parked and just make sure everything is in tip top shape with that many miles. Fix any leaks would be number one. You might get into more than what you are asking for going with a complete engine rebuild meaning needing new pistons/rings, honing on the block, machining on the crankshaft, machining on the block/head mating surface. I mean if you're up to it I would def do a complete overhaul, I've just had bad experience with pulling apart high mileage engines and opening Pandora's box.

idk its sluggish at times and it could use a complete rebuild im sure, your right though if it aint broke, dont fix it LOL i for sure am going to be changing the timing belt though since i have been putting it off for WAY to long and have no clue when the last time it was done.

what i really want to do is take the engine out and drop in an already turbo'ed 2g motor but im not sure how that will work

If it's felling a little sluggish, check your compression to see if the piston rings may need replacement. Do other things like a leak-down test to see if you have any air leaking from anywhere. Leaking air will rob performance.

@Mitsuridr she is a 98 GS G2 so i believe i have the 420a sadly :(

@spyderdrifter i will definitely have to do both of those, also something i have noticed and honestly love about the car and hope its not bad is (well first she has a carback exaust ) when you get on it and it shifts from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd she purrs right as its shifting, the most amazing sound you could ever hear, specially when you are going from light to light against some twitch that things his scion is "badass" :p she may have 200k miles but god she can move!

also on these cars or atleast mine, there is a speed limiter right at 100 :p :p she will stick at 3 grand and 100 mph and not move past, HOW THE HELL DO I REMOVE THIS!!!

i am pretty sure its electronic so most likely ill have to mess with the computer, which may force me to learn to flash them myself if possible

My first DSM was a '96 Talon ESi with the same engine. I remember those sounds, but once I got my first turbo DSM, I never looked back. I wouldn't mind having another now though just as a decent car with decent fuel economy. I had mine over 100mph though, it never hesitated to go over. You might have an issue with yours if that's the case.

its not that its hesitating to go any faster cause it has more to go it just wont do it the computer wont allow it any more air or fuel it seems, it pegs itself at 3 grand rpms and 100mpg and just sits there going strong not like a rev limiter that forces it back down it just wont allow it to go anymore LOL

My first dsm was also an eclipse gs from Florida, cleanest one I have ever owned. I miss it every day. Mine was manual and also passed 100 mph. Perhaps it's an automatic thing?

it may be, cause i really dont think and honestly cant see it not wanting to do more plus its to much of a coincidence that it pegs itself perfectly at 100 and 3 grand LOL

after doing some google searching and reading on dsmtalk there are 2 opinions on this,
1. there is a speed limiter on the GS and a rev limiter (rev limiter is way in the red line though never hit that)
and
2. the speed limiter is not there and the reason it wont go faster is drag, ok i can believe this but not right at 100 this would fluxuate a bit depending on the day and the air pressure

also the car has H rated tires so it is speed limited the government forces them to do this, so im positive that mine has a speed limiter, now the real question is how the hell do i unhook it or how do i remove the limit

also found this, http://www.dsm.org/how-tos/speedlimiter.htm now this is not for the year i have but i will be looking into this and perhaps picking up a ecu from a junk yard to give it a try :p
