okay so i will be in the market for a new Bov with my turbo ill be running, i dont think my 1g bov will keep up with a 20g turbo with a holset actuator, from what i've read its hit or miss between 20psi-25psi when they start to leak, so figured id just upgrade, after looking at options i came down to these two choices, the Synapse Bov and the Tial Q bov, heard good and bad from both so looking for peoples real experience with these, better yet if one person has ran both on the same car and can give good feedback that would be great, also open to other suggestions of bov choice, those 2 are just what i narrowed my search too

ill be on SD so ill be dumping to atmosphere most likely btw

any help is greatly appreciated, thank you

So I am on a TD06 20G on 26psi and I have a knockoff greddy with a home made cork gasket made from a sheet from autozone. It doesn't leak BLTesting at 30psi. 1 thing I would say is that it does not react quickly enough. With that being said, get the cheaper one since they both will react very well.

I use a synapse. I have driven a few cars with Tial also. I killed numerous hx40's from a dgm 1g bov not opening fast enough which overloaded the thrust bearings. After I killed enough I decided to go with the synapse due to its "fast response time". After a couple years of heavy abuse I wouldn't hesitate to buy another synapse. Either is a good choice though, I would venture to say they're the two highest quality bov's in our market.

yeah ive heard the tials are great for getting a lot of air out at a time, and that the synapse is known for its very fast response time, with me interested in autocross with lots of on off throttle response, i feel the responsiveness of the synapse may tailor to my needs a bit better then the tial? anyone have experience in that aspect? any auto x guys running either of these bov's?

I dont auto-x, but when i needed a bov for my build, i went with synapse. Its incredibly quick to respond, and tho im still on a 14b, id use it on a larger turbo and plan to (holset).

While im sure the tial is a good unit, i think the synapse design is better than std diaghram bovs, and actual airflow differential through them is probably minimal.

Either one should work fine but i vote synapse.

Here is the video that helped me make my decision

I use a synapse diverter valve and I can tell you that it's great, no springs to screw with. Nothing against tial. I've used a dodge modded 1g and it surged, a turbonetics raptor which is basically a greddy that took a bit to get it set up to where it wouldn't surge. The synapse was the only one that I just put on and didn't have to mess with.

I run a synapse and it's great. Much quicker response than my 1G bov and quite a bit louder too. I run recirc b/c the synapse can be setup to open under any vaccum so when out of boost and WOT it uses recirc to bypass most of the intake. Much better low end response and a tad bit quicker spool.

They are good to 100psi (apparently) and are built with simple off the shelf o-rings so they are super easy to rebuild.

I've never ran a tial, but your prolly fine either way.
