First off, I have built this car by myself with 99% knowledge from the dsmtuners community. I almost always find the information i need here and really do hate asking for help. However... I have finished my big build and have gotten the car started but cant get it to idle. I went to set base timing and Here's where the problem starts, in ECMlink V3 I "Ground the timing connector to ECU" and restart the car and it immediately is running low RPM by itself idling and smoking all the sudden out of the exhaust, I gave up doing timing at that point as I do NOT have a downpipe built yet and have exhaust in the face plus I cannot hook up a o2 anyway. I turned off the car and unchecked the box for grounding the timing in ecmlink and tried to restart the car and still was running like it was still on. I go back in and NOTHING will save to the ecu. It says it saves then i try to start the car unsuccessfully, go back in ecmlink and nothing is saved!!!!! I've started this car multiple times for 5min max in the past week and haven't ran into this till I Grounded that damn timing connector in link. This is a fresh build with all mechanical timing in order and set to #1 TDC with CAS installed correctly. What happend when i grounded the connector?
Heres a log when it were running. really need help understanding ECMlink
