Car has been sitting in my garage for 10 years. 1996 TSI awd. My sons 6 bolt in it is a slightly built engine. Automatic. IPT is building a tranny and torque converter as well. I'm thinking that all timing belt tensioners water pump should be changed from sitting for so long. Looking for advice. Am I being too cautious? When completed will include 60 trim turbo, dsmlink,272 cams, fuel pump and injectors. Upgraded fmic, tial bov, radiator, fans etc. And should I upgrade to a Kevlar belt? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Any thoughts on upgrading to Kevlar belt? Thank you for you input.

I personally dont run one but im not high hp either. I have no objective data on the belt other than its expense. On my personal car i change belts at 40k. Peace of mind and it takes me forever to get 40k anyway.

I run a gates Kevlar belt on my car and it's very smooth. They say anything over 400whp u need a Kevlar belt.
