As you probably know from reading the title, this build is very ambitious build. This is the ultimate goal for my car. But as you know, things may not go the way you plan in life. For long as I am able to work on this car, I am going towards that end. There maybe some setbacks here and there but the end goal is always the same. Come along for the ride and share your story with me along the way.

Overview

Proud owner of 1995 Mitsubishi eclipse GSX. Had this car for over 8 years now and after all these years i still got it. Even though it went through several changes over the years, it sill give me thrills every time i hit the gas. There is something about these cars that make you look twice every time you walk away. Especially now days, you can't even find a single one for miles. I know its a classic and classic cars need special attention. I think its up to us to continue to restore them and enjoy them. There simply nothing like it anymore. Now days everything is down sizing and becoming "eco friendy". Cars are becoming numb and not what they used to be anymore. There was a time when import super cars roam the streets and you could see them everywhere. I know those days are long gone and that's why i am keeping my car for long as i can. I know dsm's aren't super cars by any mean but when they came out they had a performance like that of a super car for a fraction of the price. I plan on keeping my car for a long time and making it into something unique but at the same time show the car's full potential. Reminding and educating people what they are really capable of. I hope you can come along for the ride.

Goals
My goals for this car is to eventually reset the import state record. The quickest import ever ran in the state of Arkansas is 7.81 sec in a 1000 foot. Here is a link to the record: http://www.centervilledragway.com/Motels.htm I admit it was pretty fast for a FWD car:). I say dsm could do better with less horsepower. With similar power it will do even better. Just take a look at Boostin Performance or Jeff Bush dsm's they run 6's in a 1000 with ease. But keep in mind they were well over 1000+ horsepower. Now i have FP HTZ3586R at my disposal. If i can make at least 800hp, good traction, and with a little bit of weight off i think i can do it. If not, i can always use that 800hp to get groceries really fast!

I agree with your message.

Great looking car, what hood if that? It's always been a favorable style to me.

I believe its VIS invader style, goes very well with the round shape :thumb:

So just a little over a couple of weeks ago i had the opportunity to install newly released BC276 cams. It was an upgrade from BC272 cams with higher lift. It is now equivalent to Kelford 272 cams but might me alittle better. These cams sounds so good and they don't fall off the RPM like the others do. It keep pulling till 8K and accidentally hit 9k one time. Im very impressed with these. You don't seem to loose any lower power and torque. Overall i am really happy with these cams. I think these cams will compliment HTZ3586R really well.

I dont recomment lumberjack style cam swap on 6bolt swap. For some reason the tentoner tool didnt quite line up to the pulley arm. Learn the hardway and had to redo the timing. Plan for the unexpected!

While installing the cams i knew the car was going to be down for a little while so i decided to go ahead and upgrade the intercooler. Nothing was really wrong with the old intercooler, it supported the billet 20g very well at 24psi making 400whp with very minimal knock. It could of been fine but i wanted to build for max power that the fp turbo was capable of. To support 70lbs+ of airflow i needed more efficient cooling so i opted for Treadstone 4.5inch intercooler. It said it would support 800hp at 2psi lost so it was very good.

Why treadstone intercooler over the others you ask? well, for one its made in the U.S.A.(i think LOL). They are in the same relm as ETS and Garrett. staggered fins with bar and plate design so its very dense. you can hardly see any day light out the other side. Compare to ebay cores you cannot throw a tomato in there and expect it to come out the other end. It will get stuck on entry ;)

Im very impressed with Megan coilovers. It doesn't roll any more in a turn. I reccomend it for those whoare looking for affordablity and function. At the track i was experiencing a lot of wheel hop. This should keep everything under control and give me a nice 60ft times. In a 1000ft everything needs to work together because of the short track. Launching will make or break those 1000ft times.

Oh man that is clean, if its all stock i say keep it that way! It is so hard to find one in pristine stock condition now days. I love my talon, its all stock too and i am planning to keep it that way for foreseeable feature.

I would suggest getting another dsm that is already messed with and just build that one. You can use this stock one for dd while you build that car. You have a very nice 2ga bro keep it that way.

The sad part is the bottom is going on this 2g so I'm trying to ither sell it or get a new bottom end idk yet.. It's really sad car has barley any rust and barley any miles :/

Rebuild it. Restore it!

I was debating on getting PTE turbos but i ended up going with FP HTZ3586r. From what i saw people were making 800hp on high boost with these turbos. They are very capable turbo. Especially FP billet wheel treatment. The new HTZ aero suppose to have a higher choke flow(not sure what that means) and its better than the older HTA wheel from what i was told. I cant wait to put it on. I am going to have this turbo forward mounted sticking out the front bumper. It should help with mph on the top end. All forward mounted turbo should.
