I was noticing that most oil feed lines i see are ran from a banjo bolt on the side of the head. For some reason mine is ran from a spot that was tapped into right next to that, on the front of the head. Why would the previous owner run it like that? Is this an ok method to use for the feed line?

Originally, the 2G turbo is fed from the oil filter housing. The side of the head method is standard and original for the 1G. If your turbo was upgraded to a MHI unit from the 2G's original T25, different kits will provide a feed line to the side of the head rather than back at the oil filter housing.

If the threads were stripped out and screwed up on the side of the head, one could create a port on the front side, right next to it. Nothing wrong with it if it is done right.

Yeah its been upgraded to a 14g so that makes sense. I havent noticed any oil leaking from around this port yet but then again Ive barely driven the car since I bought it.

The plug on the front of the head is threaded but it is not the same thread as the hole on the side of the head. So it will take a little work or a special fitting to make it the same as the original hole on the side.
