Hey guys,
Im dealing with a no start after a timing belt and water pump change on a 98 gsx.
The car has been sitting for about six months before i decided to finally tackle the job.
I went to turn the car on and it just cranks over. I have done timing jobs on my spyder and other friends dsms before and never ran into this problem. here is where im at,
crank , no start.
p0335
no fuel
no spark
checked 12c power to cps
confirmed mechanical timing
completed compression test as follows (which is surprisingly high)
1 215 psi
2 200 psi
3 210 psi
4 218 psi
I read in a post during my search that a bad vss will cause the cps to not return a signal.b only one person referenced that and I'm not sure how accurate il that info is.
Before i parked the car i had been dealing with a problem with my speedometer. it would jump up and down at times other times it would work just fine and other times it would not work at all. Most of the time it would work tho so it didnt bother me much. Also, when i hooked up the scanner to the car it would never display the vehicle speed. So my question is, is there any truth to that? Could a bad vss cause the cps to malfunction? If so i would rather go after that before the task of changing out the cps
Thanks for the help,
