So I just got done putting my top end back together, and its been about 5 years since I messed with a DSM, I forgot about THAT stud, you know the one, the middle turbo manifold stud that intersects the oil galley. To make a long story short, what do I need to do to seal that bastard off?
My engine is building oil pressure, but its a bit low, and I am spraying oil under revs all over the bottom of the manifold, downpipe, block, and lower intercooler pipe. Its pretty nasty, and makes the car un-driveable.
I know I need to pull the stud out, but I am trying to brain storm an idea of how to do it without tearing to much back apart. I don't think there is enough room to double nut it without pulling the manifold off. Not sure I can do that without dropping the turbo, which means f***ing with the oil return. I know there isn't enough room to double nut the stud coming from the turbo going into the manifold.
Guess that means removing the whole turbocharger assy, unless I can double nut that middle stud from the bottom.
So onto the next part, what to use as a thread sealant? I have some blue Resbond, will resbond with stand oil? Its a very high temp no hardening thread locker. If that is no good, should I go with permatex #2, or get a hardening permatex? If so should I use permatex red, or get some permatex copper?
