Hey guys. I Recently bought a 1gb. It is a manual. But the po put an auto motor in with 5speed trans. Seems to have a crack in turbine housing, it doesn't run right, almost like fuel cut. Would all i need is a 14b turbo and mani, 450cc injectors and manusl ecu? Confused here.

Thanks. And since its bone stock i dont need to have link to program anything right? Looks like i got some work to do LOL. Shouldnt be that bad just trying to get EVERY part i need first before i start ripping stuff off.

And is the manual ecu a direct plug in from the auto ecu? I would asume so right?

So I'm going to chime in here. Don't jump to any conclusions. The other guy is talking about the differences between an auto and a manual car... not what is wrong with your car. I see no reason why an auto motor is any issue.

How big is the crack? Is there black around the edges of the crack? Is it happening all the time? What exactly is it doing? When Is it happening?

You need to figure out when and why before you can determine who and what.

I took it as he was having issues and was going to be doing a swap (according to another thread he posted in) so, that's where I was going with it. I have a 1gb that I did the 14b swap with everything needed to do it properly as mine is an auto as well. That's all. I agree need to know they why first. My apologies if I was miss informing someone or miss understood.

Don't apologize chief. I may be understanding wrong. I took it as his car is running poor and hes looking for a fix.

Hey thanks guys. I will be doing a boost leak test this weekend to find out exactly where. I was told the housing is cracked, i cant see it. But the exhaust mani has a visible crack. It runs good...except at WOT. Once i go wot and hit about 10 psi and 4-5k rpm it hesitstes and doesn't rev past that. Almost like fuel cut. If i ease into the throttle its a little better but still does it. I have a used 14b and mani coming along with manual ecu and 450cc. I just hope those are in proper condition LOL.

This is a manual car it should already have a manual ecu and 450s etc. What was the car originally and what do we know for sure that it has on it now?

The car was originally a manual (still is)but the some other previous owner blew the motor and replaced the block and head from a 1g auto. So it has the 13g turbo 390cc injectotrs with auto ecu. Runs fine except at wot. Its not fuel cut. Its completely stock. 48k miles on chasis, rebuilt head. Compressions good. Unknown info on tranny besides new clutch. Doesnt leak or burn oil anywhere. Horrible on gas right now though LOL.

One thing im curious of is if i have an auto ecu in, why would my reverse lights work? I also noticed two plugs for the injectors are diffetent color. 2 blue othet 2 are tan color? The injectors look like black tops but was told there the auto 390cc wich i thought were pink?

Why would he switch to an auto ecu. No reason to. When motors were swapped just use the manual parts that were already there. You may want to verify what you actually have.

Is there a serial number or any way of finding out if the ecu is actually from an auto or manual? Will take that out tomorrow. Thanks pauleyman

The case isnt definitive but it may be all you have to go by at the moment. There is probably something on the board but im not familiar. Are you sure you have the auto turbo? Wont hurt anything.

I put blue top 450cc injectors in place of the 390's and a manual fpr in place of the auto fpr. Runs a lot better. Are the manual cams needed? If not, would i have to retard the timing?
