Been a member of this sit for a couple years finally finishing up the 6 bolt swap. I've been collecting parts for the last 2 years and I have pretty much everything for a fun fast car.

I have 2 motors for this car. The one I'm working on right now is a stock 6 bolt in a 97 Spyder gst.

I'm stuck on the CAS. Car will start and idle real rough and back fire. When I first bought the lemon it had a 6 bolt bottom end and 7 bolt head and intake. The guy has hard wired the CAS into the car. I'm assuming it's the 97 CAS.

I have dsm link not installed yet. I have the CAS adapter harness but there are no original CAS plugs in the car. Because it has been hacked up. I don't want to chop up my new adapter harness. My question is what's the best route to take?

Should this CAS work with a 92 6 bolt engine?
Get a whole new wiring harness?
Get a new adapter without plugs and hardwire it in?
would installing dsm link help this issue?

Just want to drive this car one time and I'll be happy.

I have the green top CAS and the adapter harness. There's just no plugs coming from the car because the old CAS is hardwired. Are you saying the best bet is to get a harness and hardwire the green top in?
Since your 2gb and the wires are already in the correct spot for the 6 bolt, you could just wire up a 1g cas plug then you wouldn't even need the adapter. Pretty much the only purpose of the adapter is to eliminate the need to hack the harness (and extend if 2ga), since yours is already hacked you might as well.

Or wire the pig tail back in. I dont hard wire anything...

I know I dont like hacking into cars like that.

So buy this pigtail and just wire it in? I don't want to chop up my other adapter cause I may be looking for a shell for my built motor not sure yet.

Actually on second thought, It would be easier and simpler to wire the 2g cas back in and use the adapter that way you don't have to hack the crank sensor harness as well. Sorry for the oversight...

Is there a place that sells generic pigtails that fit the 2g? Or any other cars that have the same connectors? Or just be on the lookout for a new wiring harness?

Here is just the cas plug...

Here is a picture of it, you might be able to snag the pigtail off of another Japanese vehicle. For example I needed a coolant temp pigtail and found one off of a lexus ls400 and a montero... It's worth a shot if you don't want to wait for shipping...

Just make sure the groves are the same, some pigtails might look the same but have different offset for their groves.

I'm gonna check the local picknpulls junk yards and see what I can find tomorrow.

If you don't want to hard wire anything (I never do either), just save yourself a headache and get a new wire harness. This way, everything is there where it needs to be, your adapter harness will hook up to the right plugs, and you'll have spare wire connectors that are becoming harder to find, or too expensive to replace.
