Sorry this is long and some information could have ben left out but im not in the best mood right now.

I own a 1998 mitsubishi eclipse gsx. Back in october of 2014 i went and bought it. The guy had the head built but some reason did no timing and a week after i owned it the motor started knocking when i was driving it. So next thing you i sent it to a shop to have built. I had some ups and downs with the shop. I mean most the people i know with my kind of car/motor take it that shop and are happy. Took them my car in November and they didnt start on it till February. Don't know why and i figured it be best not to ask. I feel like they cut corners here and there on the motor. Gave them a good amount of money to build my bottom end. I was told my motor was good for 650hp but i was going to be around 330 for right now till i build my trans. My motor had upgraded pistons, bearings and rods. They did a tune on my car with the flashable ecu that was in the car. Find out later they didnt do a full tune because not much a flashable ecu can have. So anyways i got my car back in April of 2015 finished and the next day a code came on for a misfire. Took the car back and they hooked there laptop to it and said everything was fine. They said since i had a lot of emission stuff deleted of the car thats why that code came up but they blocked it. Months later it came back on and i called the shop and they told me it was nothing and also my car was smoking a little and they said its a race motor it will burn a little oil but i know that wasnt true. Anyways from the day i got the car back i had problems. They were not big but still. I fixed most of them my self but some things i couldnt do it my self and i really couldnt go to a shop because i was low on cash. I like the car a lot so i couldnt sell it. A year and a month passes by so now may 2016 and I was talking to a friend who had there car built by that same shop who never had problems and he said he would talk to the owner for me since the owner for some reason god knows why he doesnt really respond to my calls, texts or facebook messages. I know i should have went to the shop but i never did because how i was being ignored. Anyways in the last 5 months or so my car would leak oil and i tried figuring that out but never could. I just kept an eye on my car and made sure my car always had oil. Last night i went out to hang with an old friend and i wanted to show him my car and what was done to it. SO we went on the high way and i did about 110 and about maybe 17psi. I am set to 19psi, have a pte 5252 turbo and motor good for 650hp so that shouldnt hurt the motor. The car has a comp stage 4 clutch on stock trans. After that run we drove back to my friends friends place and the car was fine. Right in front of the house i launched the car and went maybe a block and a half down and all of the sudden i heard a noise like a rod knock but only in higher rpms. It was late so i parked the car and had it towed home. Had a friend come look at it and he said its a rod knock. But the thing is if my car is built how do i have a rod knock? Car had oil but was just a little low and my wideband was all over the board because of not having the full tune. I mean when the car had been built it was on black box and after i found a great deal on dsm link v3 full i went to that but again not a full tune. The shop who did the work on my car told my friend few months ago that they told me once i got link they would have tuned my car on link since there isnt much on the black box but that was a lie just to make them selfs look better. If that was the case i would have got link sooner. Once i found out he said that i tried to bring my car back but nothing also i was finding out they were bussy

Now since a shop built my motor and told me i was good for 650hp and i have a rod knock only when over 2k rpms should i take them the car back? Its been a year and 4 months. I mean i took car of the car for the most part and always made sure i had oil in it. so with emissions stuff deleted like egr would that make a code for a misfire come up? Im trying to figure out what i should do? I mean i spent a lot on the motor and for it to not last more then 10k miles that to me is sad. Would it be the shops fault for not building my motor right or mine since it was in my hands? I feel like a built motor that is taken cared for should last way longer. My friend who came today said i had a rod knock like i said but that my bottom end needs rebuilding. But i dont know if the whole bottom end needs to rebuilt or what. I dont want any problems with this shop as i was trying to get on better terms with the shop. My friend said to call them to see what they would do but if nothing i would either have to rebuild my built motor or find a used built 6 bolt. My motor was the revised 7 bolt with built 7 bolt head that had 272 cams

Again sorry this is long but i know these cars have these problems but i mean i understand the first time when the last owner didnt do the timing right and had a stock bottom end on a built head.

Thanks for the help in advance

The knocking could be some thing else like balance shafts, lose cam gear, ect...
If it is rod knock did you replace oil pump?
What brand are the parts? The cheap Chinese parts there is no faith in those.
And you say your not tuned so that already a bad idea.

You will have better luck getting answers if your post is shorter.

Ya got to say for starters you really need to work on condensing the story to only the pertinent facts and work on your sentence structure. I have no problem reading a long post if it has useful information but I struggled through reading that entire thing.

Anyway, what ecu are you currently running? Link or still on the flashable? I run a flashable ecu in mine mainly because I have to keep the emissions gods in Cali happy and I make decent power. It may not have all the bells and whistles that Link has but there is no reason a "complete" good running tune cant be done on a blackbox ecu with someone that knows what their doing.

The knock could be many other things but there is definitely a good possibility you have spun a bearing. Even if you do really have good parts in that bottom end and not China crap nothing makes a motor "650hp" proof. The other factors, mainly the tune, fuel, etc. are going to depend on whether a built motor survives a certain hp level or not. You can wipe out any high dollar forged pistons on 6psi if the fuel/timing is off far enough. So the fact that you questioned the tune but ran the car hard anyway puts some of the blame on you.

However, the shop not getting back to you after you spent a lot of money is wrong. I would definitely take it over there and get their opinion about the knocking noise. If they are good people they will try to help you out. If not you may be SOL and you'll never take the car there again.

If you don't have a warranty in writing, you can already guess how this is going to go.

Forget whatever you think they told you about the black box ecu. Whatever smoke they blew up your ass was them not having any idea how to fully explore, understand and modify the particular ECU.
